Avomance, I always hit the Like button for you...you are so informative. BUT, you asked if we wanted you to show us how to build any of your farms...well, I, personally, would like you to show me how to build your cactus farm with composting. Since I have not been successful in building a skeleton farm, this would be a huge help for me. Thank you for all you do for us...it is greatly appreciated.

Avo, you have the patience of a saint to build these again. My go to is your first one. With the seeds, Im actually using it on Avotopia lol.
Probably should put a sign there to state that it's one of yours shouldn't I? Lol.
But wow you are proper on your red stone, any chance of a crash course for players like me that have converted from bedrock?
Redstone is alien to me on java. Although I did manage to install an on and off switch for my mob farm on my own yesterday. Which was a big deal to me. Yay me..... Lol.
But Redstone is so different from what I'm used to from bedrock. I'd love to see a side by side video in the future of this is bedrock Redstone/ this is java Redstone and pointing out the differences.
I knew what I was doing on Bedrock. Java is a whole new playground.
As always, Thank you for uploading and sharing your secrets. They help out so much. You really don't get enough credit for it.
Hope people will stop hit and running and show their appreciation for the time you put into these videos.
Avo your a star, can't wait for the next upload.

I have all my farms hooked up to a central storage. Items trickle in.
Each storage slice is designed so that overflow is ejected out the side. Anything compostable gets composted, burnable goes into fuel for super smelter, etc.
This way I get a chestfull of each crop/whatever, and extras get turned into other useful stuff.

there is a better bonemeal moss farm.
try and take a look at the ones the different hermits make.
they use the moss blocks to make bonemeal from not just the things that grow on it, if you push the moss block when it is blocked it will break, so they make it so that they make stone with lava, then convert it into moss then break them, and they overflow in bonemeal :D

    • @Avomance
      @Avomance  2 роки тому

This also uses the moss blocks Necro

      @@Avomance no, it doesn't.
The source moss Block is 2 above the stone. From there ist spreads down and only those lower blocks are broken. IIRC you will make 3 bone meal for every bone meal spend.

Silentwhisperer has a massive moss farm on his channel, and it can be converted to a bonemeal farm, or a combo bonemeal and moss farm. Redstone intensive though.

I made a version of avo's semi automatic crop farm, that is twice as long and 2 story tall. I planted it with half wheat and half carrots and got 1 1/2 stacks of wheat, 4 stacks of wheat seeds and 5 stacks of carrots from one grow cycle, you can make some bonemeal with that bad boy!

I like throwing Baked Potatoes in the little Composter Tower you have at the start.
Baked Potatoes are one of the best things to compost, and if you've got a Potato XP farm you're going to have more Potatoes than you could ever eat anyway.

Moss farm with a stone generator pushing across gives a lot more bone meal and about the same resources as your moss farm.

@@Avomance you are correct. Looking back at it I see how it is set up differently. When I initially watched it, it looked like you were just getting bonemeal from the items they grew on top of the moss. I used shulkercraft’s moss bone meal farm as a template and used it to fit my world. The yield is pretty good and uses a lot of the same materials and resources. I love the video! Thanks for taking your time to compare these farms.
