Complete Story...
....This tornado first touched down around 8PM morphing from a cone to a brilliant multiple vortex tornado. At one point there were two tornadoes on the ground... A cone-ish elephant trunk and a brief rope making this the third day in a row I witnessed two tornadoes on the ground at the same time.
....Attempting to intercept this tornado at high speeds on dirt roads with a bad front end alignment yielded shaking video for the first 10 or so minutes (not seen here). The tornado reached EF2 status northwest of Woonsocket South Dakota and eventually became an EF4 South of Alpena as it destroyed a farmstead. The two people taking refuge in the basement at the time only suffered minor scratches cuts and bruises. The tornado dissipated Northwest of Alpena.
....Many other tornadoes touched down this day and the small town of Wessington Springs SD took a direct hit. A reported 20 minute warning time allowed residents to seek cover. No fatalities occurred.
Music "Darkest Night" by Dan Workman & Christine Wu.
Guitar ambiance by Pecos Hank Schyma
You talk like a poet. One of thing I love about your videos is that you put careful thought and narration into it. The way you explain and describe things makes your videos that much more enjoyable. Definitely my favourite storm chaser.
I concur

BarNone Kingston omg i saw you one time dering a tornado and i almost got hit
you are one of the most down to earth coolest guys ever man.
Thanks amigo! Say hello to Miycke Mosue.
he said "Hei Pekus Henk"
@@PecosHank amigo means friend in Spanish
Agreed
@@annadavenport4654 I think he knows that, which is why he told his friend to say hello!
Why can't all storm chasers and weather phenomena aficionados be as chilled, calm and collected as you, Hank? :D
Because they drink too much coffee? ;) xoxox
Pecos Hank Ha, maybe. They might be fuelled by it. Oh, another thing, how about less of the kisses though, eh? ;) I'm a guy. ;)
Kris A OH SHIT!!!! I confused you with a storm chasing chick friend of mine...
*****
Pecos Hank Hahaha,.. :D Chill out, Hank. PMSL. :D No need to panic, I like kisses - just ones from women though. ;) Have you been drinking, coffee? Maybe you need some Ovaltine instead to calm you down. :D
It may be weird to say this, but its so beautiful. its so smooth looking, pure white and defined.
Not weird lol
OK.....
Yeah I like the pure, white tornadoes too. You can almost hear the orchestra music as the peaceful white tornado gently lays down its debris. Unlike the thuggish, violent darker tornadoes that destroy everything as rap music plays . Trump loves the white tornadoes also. For those who are about to bust right now I'm just kidding😉😀
Jaquan - it is. You expect it to be more grey due to debris, but it is almost a pure white.
@@BRUTUSbyFORCE Why you little.. don't you ever... I outa 👊💥 **shaking fist in air**
I wish I could like this each time I watch it! Seriously, I watch your videos over and over. No other channel can even come close to touching you Hank.
This comment = 100 likes. Thanks Jim.
this is so cool
tornados
Jim B do you think 2017 is going to have plenty of tornadoes for Hanks to film?
Jim B same
I love how you bring in a sense of realism, its a beautiful thing to observe for those not affected by its path, and I find some stormchasers seem to forget that, getting hyper and worked up, excited and happy, yet that thing could be destroying lives, and whilst we watch in awe, you remind people that its beautiful but deadly.
didn't realize u were the one playing ur own music for background! really awesome and I was goimg to say I love ur guitar strumming. also the videos u make are awesome I enjoy them soo much! I love the way u document and ur footage is amazing and u have so much guts! please stay safe! I just love ur videos! ♥
I didn't know you made your own music to go along with your videos! Nice job on both, stay safe.
The secret is out. Thanks Vox!
Pecos Hank glad I could help. :D
Pecos Hank INTERESTING
Nice. Hands down you are my favorite storm chasing narrator. Lol
I'm not a vetern storm chaser but I do chase alot were live and I've seen some interesting weird things storms can do here in tornado ally, they don't even have to put down a tornado to be interesting and surprising.
ShortNanxious I agree with you about non-tornadic storms. Some of my best stuff comes from the weakest thunderstorms. Cheers!
Lol. Cheers
+Pecos Hank like the spantaious combustion death guy :P
14 tornados touching down. Hank's in the middle of the road talking to a turtle. Love you hun. You make me smile.
Love your work! When I was younger I used to study tornadoes and be completely fascinated, as I grew older I guess I forgot about them, I'm now just getting back to learning about them and it's more exciting than ever. Thank you for the wonderful footage, it's very enjoyable fantastic work!
You're very welcome Nereya!
hi

how sweet of you
i love how all the comments on his channel are positive🥺 i love this channel so much, i don't know how anyone could possibly dislike it!
Best channel i found on the whole internet. It's really interesting how you describe and talk about Tornados :) keep the good work please and take care !
Glad our paths crossed. Thanks Flash!
The way you show your stories, Hank, you should write a book. *Seriously!* Your way with words make us laugh, make us cry, but thrill us with your knowldge and bravery - all sorts - and your love for critters, rescuing them off roads! Your subscribers would love to buy your book - I would! So go to Amazon Kindle Publishing (KDP) and get info. I'm sure you'll be onto a winner.
I knew it! I knew you were a musician because the music you use in your videos is perfect for the content. As always, great video, great commentary, great music! You're the best, Hank.
The cat is out! You rock HBSanta.
Pecos Hank Hey How is It like to Storm Chase???
Sheldon Mead It's like shepherding wild chickens.
Oh Lol
Pecos Hank agreed. ive only ever been on a few( and nly around my home town here in alberta canada) and ive only seen 2 tornadoes. but i have seen some amazing textbook supercell mothership formations with massive inflows. its truly amazing
Hank is hands down the best tornado chaser/videographer out there.
Interesting how a lot of rope tornadoes have weak, wispy edges but this one is nice and smooth, and almost looks solid.
7 years.is old for a UA-cam video, but I don't care about that when the content is this good
You really need to write a book, for real!
I seriously felt like I was watching a show on The Weather Channel there for a while. That's a compliment...
Yeah was wondering about the couple, that's great they weren't seriously hurt. Another great video with great narrative Hank.
Appreciate you watching these Kevin. Cheers!
as always buddy *clink (cheers)
you catch some of the most outstanding weather, but what i love most is the easy and almost poetic way you describe the events,i now consider your channel a must for severe weather post`s and have for about four years, you are the most talented and well spoken chaser, keep it up and safe hunting ,a canadian fan.....
I was wondering where u got the background music. thanks Hank. I just recently discovered your channel while researching one of the only deathly real fears that border a phobia and that is tornadoes. I live in Georgia. 20 min east of Atlanta and had one strike years ago less than a mile from me. the sounds it made, the storm it was hiding in, and the fear it gave me have stuck with me. this is my favorite channel in the subject of storm chasing so thank you again my fellow southerner. God speed in your endeavors.
Hey Pecos Hank! I just came back 5 years later to tell you that I've been watching your videos for three years! I love your channel so much! Long story short, I was on a car moving to Florida. We stayed at our friend's house in Georgia so we can rest. But when before we went to their house, an EF0 tornado came! We had to go through it because there was no other way. But it was kinda fun doing that! When I'm upset, I watch your videos. They help me though my day, since there is lightning, thunder, rain, and a very rare occurrence of tornadoes in Florida. Your the best, Pecos Hank. Take care, and I'll always watch your videos! ツ
Fantastic as always. Loved the ( almost middle eastern meets 60's surf sounding) music at the end🌪
Thanks for not yelling or talking too much !
More great work Hank! I've said it before; you're a great story-teller! That guitar ambiance is mesmerizing. I WANT IT! I like the Workman/Wu stuff too. I'd like to know how to get it. I have "Afternoon" (you sent it).
Thanks Ronnie. Workman hasn't published this duo stuff... Remind me to hook you up.
You have a pleasant voice and your videos are calm and informative. Not like many of the other chasers with yelling and stressing and all that.
Damn I wish I could have this as my job.
Your footage is always beautiful! One of my favorite people to watch when it comes to tornado footage.
+Kita Chaffin I appreciate it Kita!
Hey Hank, I'm from Germany I fucking love your videos. We dont have Tornados here, just rarely once or twice a year and then really small ones F0-F1. I'm fascinated by them and I would love to see one in real. They're destructively beautiful. Love ur Channel! Keep it going buddy!
If its possible to spent some cash for a visit one or two weeks in the states with you and having the opportunity to see real Tornados, let me know!
Cheers
this is quite litterally the best UA-cam channel I've come across so far
awesome man!
i watched nearly all of your videos now and they are all fucking awesome!
keep doing them and be carefully ;)
sry for my english :P
Your English is better than most Americans. Thanks for watching em all dude!
Hank, I listen to your videos when I go to sleep.... it's weird but your voice has this tone that is like no other!
**Dumb comment** :D

I love tornado 🌪 is Epic awesome
I love pecos hank
Simplyric: No, stupid.
I have a phobia of severe weather but you make me realize that these are more beautiful than terrifying you really help me to not be so scared thank you so much
Love your tornado footage. Keep up the good work!
You are the one man I'd like to take a guided tour with. It's obvious that it's about you and nature and all its grandeur. Your videos, to my eyes are almost like artwork. No shouting, no screaming, just accepting the reality of what's in front of you and documenting it. Complete AWESOMEness.
Steve Jarrett Thanks Steve! Lots more on the way.
This guy is genuinely cool as fuck.
You’re one of the best Hank! Not the the others at all to me you’re calm, cool, collective, and super informative. Love watching your vids!!!
I have a question: Have you storm chased tornadoes in like Montana Wyoming Colorado or New Mexico?
So let’s recap: you’re a talented photographer, a skilled musician, and now I’ve *just* realized that you’re also a gifted writer as well. The narration really pulls me into your videos and I’m able to get a glimpse of your vibe as you film these magnificent storms.
I remember this day like it was yesterday, such an amazing day. What video camera would you recommend for an amateur like myself :P ?? I already have a Canon Rebel EOS, but it doesn't take really good videos, plus I can't shoot photographs while I'm videotaping. I'd like to get a video camera just to take videos if you know what I mean, but what would you recommend in the low-end starting camera & not so expensive but yet HD and better quality than my videos I take from my Canon Rebel?
You can't go wrong with any newer model Nikon or Canon 1080p DSLR's. I find used ones on Craigslist for half price.
You're doing an outstanding job!! This is the best Tornado chaser commentary and video quality I have ever seen!

it's a danger noodle now
To this day one of the only channels that I will rewatch videos again and again just for fun
NICE FUCKEN ENDING MAN, I wish I
could play that good : D
Your videos are so well done. I want to chase storms, it's actually on my bucket list. I won't go on my own or anything because I know that's not safe, but someday I'll be able to go on one of those twister tours. It's always been a dream of mine to see a tornado again (first was when I was six, just outside Tulsa), and I just wanted to tell you that watching your videos is a big part of that.
Elizabeth Baughman have you thought about being a Storm spotter for your Nws
It's not much safer when you're not alone, lol

That image mid way through way beautiful!!
It’s amazing that beauty shape shifted like that! The Mesocyclone honestly according to the video didn’t look as if it had the stability to produce such a beautiful monster! Looks are far beyond deceiving!
immense thanks for ALL your superknowledge videos..... i watch them in awe as i lived thru many far north queensland cyclones Larry included.... greetings from Tasmania
Your video's are the best, there's no shouting and no saying oh my god over and over
And the evocative music you make to accompany your adventures.
I dunno why, but I absolutely LOVE Tornadoes... They're so interesting.
I’ve been obsessed with tornado videos lately during quarantine and you are by far the best i’ve seen. Most channels are full of yelling and it makes it difficult to take in the beauty and learn. I appreciate your channel and now a subscriber !
I personally am terrified of storms but because of you and your videos and showing how to safely get out of them and watch them from a distance i now want to become a storm chaser. We don't have any tornadoes where i live because we have 2 rivers on either side of us. but when i lived in a different town i experienced 2 and let me tell you, they were beautiful. Thank you for documenting your experience and letting us all watch it.
As a music major deep in my studies of heavy music theory and performance, I must say that your "guitar ambience," work with the Southern Backtones, and your work as Pecos Hank, is incredible. Music is the one thing that has it's purpose for every scenario, and you beautiful capture the music that goes so smoothly with weather, lightning, and tornadoes. I appreciate the A≈450 tuning and the slow, adagio-like tremelos. Absolutely gorgeous.
I love your stormchasing videos, your always so calm and collected unlike a lot I've seen where people are just yelling random things.
+Trey C Thanks Trey.
Your views of tornadoes are better than anything else
I totally dig you doing your voice overs along with your smooth guitar for setting the mood! Awesome, Hank!
I have had a recurring dream of a tornado coming toward me from a very early age. It's particularly strange because I am English! I always wake up before the tornado reaches me. This is why I am fascinated by them. I watch loads of stuff on you tube. Your channel is by far the best.
For what ever reasons, I dream of them too. Cheers from Texas Noena.
Pecos Hank getting a reply from you just made my Christmas day...thank you x
I have recently subscribed to your channel and want to say you're is far the best in my opinion . The way you can stay calm while adding colorful insight. When trackers are yelling and screaming on the videos is so annoying. I don't know how you do it but keep up the good work.
The way you describe these monsters are just...amazing. Entrancing. Makes me inspired, wanting to chase these things too.
Scary as hell video, man!!! Especially hair-raising, I thought, was the part where you said all the house's, that you had just passed, were now covered by the tornadic super cell! Gave me chill's man! And, hey! Nice surprise at the end to see you strumming your own guitar! Stay safe out there, and keep the awesome video's coming, and I, for one, will be here watching!
We don't get storms like this in Utah. The energy, sights and sounds you capture are lively and astounding ! Nature force leaves me spell bound. Very much enjoy your videos & narration. Thank you for sharing your talent and amazing footage .
Drove near what I believe was an ef 0 or we 1 tornado in Carlisle pa years ago. Was never more terrified in my life. But as was watching it was mesmerized by the power and furry of mother nature. Love your channel hank. Thank u for all you do
i love these types of stuff like skinny long twisty tornadoes especially the big ones
This Is Incredible! Tornados are on of the many natural phenomenons that meteorologists can't predict one supercell can produce a tornado and another does not. Well it probably all comes down to the atmosphere. Weather can never be accurately predicted, mother nature can do anything. Whether it be Producing a tornado or hitting someone with lightning? I think Hank does incredibly well at interpreting mother natures ways. He puts his life in danger. Keep up the good work Hank! Stay Safe!
I'm happy I see your videos because the other week a tornado almost formed near my house at Perth Amboy NJ I was on my porch
I remember when I was 19 I was on cortlandt street and a tornado with green smog covered everything I was drunk saying the darkness the darkness is coming
u are the only youtuber that uploads real tornado footage.
Hello from Alpena.....Michigan! Very mesmerizing twisters, always been fascinated by them.
Chris here from Australia, amazing stuff man! jaw was on the floor for some of this footage. thank you !!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, you have the most beautiful and horrifying storm footage on UA-cam.
Collins lopez You're welcome to say that as many times as you like! Thanks dude.
Such a smooth tornado, looks almost unreal.
We don’t have tornadoes here in Australia 🇦🇺, but it truly amazing to watch and learn.
yes you do. tornadoes happen everywhere on the planet with the exception of antarctica. and yes, tornadoes have been recorded in the arctic circle.
I gotta tell you, but to be honest with you, you are the best stomr chaser anybody in UA-cam can watch! Your channel contents are awesome!
I absolutely loved this video. Some tornadoes are nothing less than mesmerizing. Thank you for the video.
The Music.. Makes the storms that much frightening.. I Love it !
Oh no now Im jealous. Mans has a dual neck guitar... Im honestly impressed you make the featured music though. Most people don't
My GF recommended me watching that cinema picture called the first 48Hrs. Then I realized half way through they really had all day.

This tornado and the music just makes it at majeatic yet deadly creature
That is insane about the music too! The tornadoes you film fascinate me!

Another awesome video! You make the music for your videos? Sweet!! Can not wait to see more! I am also glad that the husband and wife were OK!
Yep, I make about 90% of the music on this channel with help of my friends. Thanks again Lorki... More on the way.
