A Honda dealer in Denver had a 2006 on display in the lobby (in 2016) a customer had traded in...with...are you sitting down?...445,000 miles and ZERO problems! I don't know why Honda stopped making the very popular Element. I car camp in my 2015 Honda Fit (named Ruby). My Fit has "magic seats" like the Element. :-)
Looking to pick my first one up...a 2009...hopefully in the next few days! Uncle has one (2008) with an eCamper on top I toured Alaska in...stellar car!
The interior of the Element reminds me of the old model VW Bus from the sixties and seventies. They, too, had a floor of rubber mats from front to rear, and builing a bed on top of the engine shelf was super easy. I had an L-shaped bed that went from the engine shelf to the short wall behind the driver seat. My first time seeing an Element interior was pure nostalgia. Now I want one. Automatic with heat and A/C, that will be an awesome upgrade from those old VW's.
Great job putting these different videos together. Amazing how some of people have it all setup inside. I met a lady that was living in one full time with some cats and dogs, had a really cool kitchen setup.
Have recently converted my 2003 Element to a mini camper. Removed the back seats for maximum available space. Things fit in snuggly and will need to be kept organized for me and the dog. Have taken the container approach so that things can be removed easily....containers are the base for a single bed... dishes, cooking gear and tools in a three drawer plastic container....add the cooler and Coleman stove....and there was just enough room to be able to a portaloo container. Taking a tent just in case it becomes to confining in the Element. Leaving mid January for warmer climates at the coast. Wish me luck!
Getting a olive green/light green, 2003 Honda Element Dx: 2.4L, clean title/no accidents, only 140,000 actual miles/9300k miles a year, only 1000 miles on new tires, interior and exterior in above average condition, all features work. Will be converting as well, to include a tent that attaches to rear of Element and cannot wait to get started. Thanks for the upload!👍 (I too will video document the conversion and share via this UA-cam channel).
Great idea. I haven’t found mine yet but please include me when you do. I too just got the car tent for my Jeep GC because previous experience mandates some sort of weather shelter as even in the warm southwest deserts WIND is a killer if your confined inside. Happy camping/living all you free spirits‼️💃💃💃 And everything I already have will just move into my Element later - Whoohoo 👍
Once when I was looking for used vans I pass a Honda Element and looked inside and taught you could sleep in the back. And now I see many found that out too. But then there are even people even sleeping in Prius.
I loved my Element for 9 years until I rear-ended a Beemer at 30mph. Beemer slammed on his brakes right in front of me. Element totaled. Hardly a scratch on the Beemer. I was black and blue from the seatbelt. Still shook up about it...two years ago.
Sage roddy is a minimalist for sure, especially when sporting a $15-20 Casio FW-35 watch. (The remake of the one from the 80's). It happens to be the same watch I own.
I have a 2007 SC. It’s not tricked out but another element owner crafted a modification that enables me to hang a single hammock from one side of the back to the opposite side of the front. When not in use I unhook the front and hook it together with the other end in the back. It takes up very little space and is super comfortable. Kristi, (my sister’s name is Cristi, too). I hope you are hooked up with the E owners groups on Facebook. There are tons of us on there and everybody is very willing to share information about Element everything. ENO single nest hammock through Amazon was delivered to my front door for $53. Everybody loves it!
Many 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 for doing this vid. Just what I needed to convince me to find mine. And, as you mentioned, lighter is better especially for me as I’m 79 and hitting the road again in the prime of my life. Going to the Van build in Parker AZ next month’s to meet and learn. So you really showed me so many solutions as right now I’m tricking out my Jeep GC which is adequate but no necessary headroom. And the useof plastic bins as a mattress platform makes so much sense. FYI I have underbed rolling ones that are only about 8” h x 36” L x 18” w which should be perfect. I want everything easily removable normal car use. When not out camping. You have any vids on easy solar electric needs? 🤗 💃💃💃
The 2nd guy in the red shirt is a Hot shot Firemen..Dude Literally Jumps into the middle of fires and puts them out...Probably makes Around $100,000 a year and Is saving it for the future..Smart
I have been watching van life vids dreaming... and need a car and am broke... coworker has 2004 Honda element i can get... heart racing!!! Crazy thoughts!!!
I have been looking on and off for an element for a few years now, I decided on a 2011 Ford escape as my camper car, but I found out I did not have enough room and I prefer the hitch of the element especially to cook on. For those that say they don’t have problems, I have looked at several used ones that have numerous problems, I test drove one that wouldn’t go over 60 mph on the highway, and I drove another one today that had some type of issue with I think the oil pressure sensor because it was sputtering around 40 mph. They’re definitely awesome. I dunno if I could live in it for years tho. Maybe a month or two, mostly weekends , but for that length of time I want to get a cargo van with more room/height
I'm not sure why you didn't highlight the Nemo Element. She has the absolute best set up with the camper top. I'm in the process of purchasing a Honda Element today. Next step, the Ursa Minor camper top. Really excited about it as I've been eager to van life, but realistically while still working a full time job, I will just be a weekend warrior. The Honda Element ticks off all the boxes for me.
a hell of a machine. let`s see how the 2019 model comes out: the gtound clearance factor could be a problem in the newer model. let's keep freedom floating all around guys. best from Greenland.
I've got an 03.. I've done a bunch of road trips and have never had an issue with space (I'm 6"1) I've done the west coast with my gf for 10 days and we had plenty of room (she's 5"7 ) . The front seats always get pushed forward when I sleep
I do, but right now I want to do camping on the regular seats. Seems no one likes that route. Ill try it out on a bicycle trip and see how my body does. But i do want a tiny camper built.
Great video but GOOD LORD please take 10 minutes to level the audio. Its not that difficult to do and is DEF worth doing because as is, this is almost unwatchable. Great content...just take a little more time to polish your content and it will be KILLER! Keep up the great work. Dropped you a Like
Honda, if your seeing this..........STOP the non-sense and bring this car back! Trash the CR-V, it's a joke. The Element is NOT a CR-V nor can the CR-V make up for the Element. Stop trying to compare the two as they are not the same car.

That's why they quit making them. They last forever.

no one really bought them...sales were terrible
Mine is a 2006, 159,000 miles, stick, red, camper no build, conversion. Omg! I wouldn’t trade it for anything BUT another Element, just like this one.

I have a '03 Element. Needs a new rear end which am replacing, 184,000 miles & runs great! Love it!!

We need an element rally
@@VehicleHunter that'd be awesome! Somewhere in Smokies one year, Rockies the next, and then Grand Canyon, etc? Let's do it!🙏🇺🇸👍

Something very appealing to our primordial instincts i feel... Everyonehas a place in their heart for independent living...
Buda Bunda, very well said!
It's interesting to see different ideas to use it to camp or live in. There must be alot of backseats available for sale, maybe even free
thanks for drawing all these together. Nice analysis.
Once when I was looking for used vans I pass a Honda Element and looked inside and taught you could sleep in the back. And now I see many found that out too. But then there are even people even sleeping in Prius.
Your right. I’ve met ppl in cali living in their Prius

Wouldn't be more minimalist NOT to have a watch?
Haha I love this watch. $15 at target and it never has to leave my wrist.
I love my 2007 Element cartruck! No camping stuff...yet!

Never had these vans in the UK, looks like a good van, i like the doors with the rear suicide doors

Nice video. Thanks.

We've been waiting for years for an actual new Element model to show up for sale in the US. So far, nothing.
To each their when it comes to how the space is utilized
It's crazy that Honda quit making these. Now if Tesla made one that would be amazing...
Thinking of getting one but am a big guy and 6 foot think I will fit
You'll fit fine.
I've got an 03.. I've done a bunch of road trips and have never had an issue with space (I'm 6"1)
I've done the west coast with my gf for 10 days and we had plenty of room (she's 5"7 ) . The front seats always get pushed forward when I sleep
Karsten Fuglsang you can always sleep on a diagonal for a bit more length or maybe put front seat forward and have head to rear.
I'm 6'5 300lbs and I love my element
Hey dude would be cool if you put some links to channels you highlight. Spread the love.
Absolutely, i should have done as i was editing. But ill do it in the description for this one. Thanks :)
Vehicle Hunter thanks dude! Great to see so many people who love elements in one place. Appreciate the shoutout and the positive feedback.
Living the dream
Whoa whoa but what did he do to his Casio watch?!?!
Old times.. When people said this is an ugly... This time.. 'I want an element!'
Who’s the older lady at the beginning? Would love to know her channel
Some of ideas are awesome and creative! Do you have any plans to do something similar?
I do, but right now I want to do camping on the regular seats. Seems no one likes that route. Ill try it out on a bicycle trip and see how my body does. But i do want a tiny camper built.
That was fun although you missed me!
>^..^< Vary Inventive set of Honda Owners............
The container store was out of shopping bags, I couldn't buy anything 😟😟
Only if the E is 6 inches longer with little more power
Good looking couple
Stephi at 6:14 is funky fun
What kind of touch screen radio is that
I can see Honda doing a re-release of this car very soon
The one gentlemen from Nevada looks EXACTLY like NJ's governor Phil Murphy. Twinsies.
I lived in Honda civic for 3 months.
will edwards : the rear seat folds down and it's quite roomy.
nice
Stephi Lee
Not to be crude but why build the bed so high if you are a couple? There's hardly enough room for activities...
I dont think they took into consideration the sweidish helicopter while building their campers.
Great video but you need to learn how to level out the audio.
7:00 bet that van smells like marijuana
Sorry but I didn't see really any food in that food locker. :)
Жаль что все ваши переделки автомобиля только для одноместные. Вдвоем в ней уже тесно спать.
Honda element is better than buying a miniRV for 150k

Its sad to see America dying.. and going away in a Japanese built car. How ironic.
They need a reliable car to go away. An American car was just break alongside the road.
This is not camping ! It is living in your van down by the river .
Gee, who wouldn't want to live in a shoebox and shit in a bucket?
Different strokes for different folks, or something like that.
Or Live down by the river and shizing in a shoe box .
Leave it to a female to clutter up a car.
