You win because you did all the leg work.
Goat people, so fauns, Faun Sapien, the thinking faun ;)
I’m really satisfied with that answer.

I used to say cow, but I think you've convinced me.

What did the buffalo dad say to his boy on the first day of school? Bye-son
This joke falls apart when you realise that Buffalo and Bison are different species found in different continents.

I am completely new to 40k. I absolutely love the Tau but have had several friends strongly recommend me to stay away. Your channel has really helped me take the dive into the Tau! Thanks for the content!
I am looking to get into Kill team, and recommendation?

At around the 19 minute mark I suddenly got the impression this was devolving into a "camel-toe" joke. Dodged that one. Did not expect goats, though. Nice video!

14:45 wow wait a minute. I've seen dozens if not hundreds of dipictions of Tau with massive mamory glands. So how can you say they don't have them when the most popular depiction of Tau is with it mamories

Great video, it reminds me of a chat I had the other day about retirement policies in the 41st millennium. Tripping out on these little, often overlooked points of contention in the lore is a lot of fun.

I just go with Manatee people. Handle both cow people and fish people.

Somehow its funny how we humans tend to put something into a box, instead of accepting it.
But your overall conclusion means we have goatpeople in 40k. (and well hidden alongside that)
Just one mayor disagree: currently its hidden if the sexual dimorphism is clear or little.
Because we mainly have the depiction of 3 of the main castes. (figurwise)
Firewarriors, Air-Pilots and the male Etherials.
While we know that all 5 castes have both genders, I havent run into any official artwork depicting them outside of their uniform.
Artistic freedom shows us that female Tau have clear sexual dimorphism (Wargames Exclusive, like your resting Sniper)
And the differences of the 5 castes/subspecies shows that they have evolved differently according to their surroundings.
Taking our world into account you could assume that the Earth Caste comes from lands similar to europe, rich with farmlands etc, while the Firewarrior comes from lands that were not so rich on that (similar to the orgins of many warrior cultures on Earth), the Water Cast would come from an enviroment that has more to offer than the people need and less need of fighting over resources.
And Air and Etherials come from more unpleasant regions.
While their basic genetic code is similar, they have evolved differently.

Huh, for some reason I thought Tau had sharp teeth in the front. Like triangle shape where the incisors would be.

Is there a "joke" classification, since that is all GW seems to think of Tau LOL.
But seriously good video on this

Well, as an Australian they are not Roos, they got 3 distinct toes and nails. Plus the pouch is a problem. ALTHOUGH the milk patches in replacement of breasts to get milk on animals like echinda and platypus could be an interesting way to get around the lack of visible breasts. Much to fanboi art everywhere

Ungulates includes whales and dolphins. Tau have respiratory orifices that resemble blow-holes and are dolphin-colored. I think tau descended from cetaceans.

Thanks for the vid. I'm looking forward to a new golden age when you can make more videos on playing Tau again.
I'm thinking of how Tau ships are named after ancient species of earthern fish. I realise this could just be the imperium's own designation, but I'm suspicious that these fish species are as mysterious to contemporary humans as the wild donkey. Which makes we wonder if the Tau themselves know about such creatures. And so the imperium designation are a translation of whatever the Tau call them.
If Tau are aware of such species it may suggest either a common cultural link with the memory of such fish being preserved in Tau traditions. Or, these species have actually existsed on worlds the Tau have visited in recent history.

Its kind of hard to determine. they are 5 species as one, thats just interesting.
