The sound of Roberta Flack/s voice is something I will never forget. I have heard this song sung by a few others, but never with the passion and beauty of hers.
Yes u tube is amazing putting so many people's heart in places they can't imagine all these songs from way back people are ready to be loving kind and peaceful. I watch people's reactions it is just amazing
Memories...one of my favorite songs ever. Junior in high school in 72. She has a beautiful voice. Speaks to us doesn't she? Such young emotions. Close my eyes and I am back in time.
I love revisiting this song, both the video and reactions. I feel it strongly every single time. She's got the most amazing voice and ability to connect with me (similar to how you said she's singing to you directly). She's one of a kind
I believe there are lyricists, musicians, arrangement experts, and voices out there that there is NO reason hits like this aren't coming out all the time. But what we get now is a pale reflection of the music's from the early 70s.
You look like a guy I was in love with in High School and this song came out when we graduated in 1972 and he died young at the age 32 and was a world know Artist. When I watched this, it was like I was seeing him in you and this song was how I felt about him, and I do not even know if he ever heard it. He did not know that I was deeply in love with him.
Roberta is amazing and this song is so beautiful and heartfelt as were many songs then. George Michael did a gorgeous and sensitive version of this too.
I must have missed this last March. Oh Chad, it is a beautiful song. It was an old folk song from the 1950's. A camp counselor taught it to us at Girl Scout Camp somewhere around 1970-71. I learned it on guitar that summer. Imagine a bunch of 8th and 9th graders singing our hearts out. Roberta Flack is so lovely and personal. She had some definite "husk" in her voice.
Like you, I've heard this song, but not seen a performance of it. She has a great voice, I've heard a few of her songs actually. She is talented. They were on the radio when I was a kid. And my mom had them on compilation albums. She has more emotions than the other singer you reacted to, or rather she vocalize them better.
Of course, Roberta is great but we must give out a shout for the great British folksinger/playwright/songwriter Ewan MacColl who composed this masterpiece ( and many other great songs)
Very nice Chad, but really you should also listen to the fantastic version that Angelina Jordan made at 11 years old, with only Egil's guitar to accompany her 😮
Close your eyes and listen to the song it will take you on a journey of pure musical estacy..music today....is absolute garbage in comparison to this Masterpiece ..🎶🎵🎶
Perfection comes gently and rarely. Sheer perfection.
Beautiful girl. Beautiful song. Great Roberta.
I love Roberta Flack, i was 14 when this song came out, i wore out a 45 of this song ,i played it so much. Killing Me Softly is a great song as well.
Listening with my eyes closed, letting the memories flow! So beautiful!! 💕
No one else can sing this song like Roberta Flack can - her voice touches your soul...
Clint Eastwood asked her if he could use this song in his movie, 'Play Misty for Me'. He loved that song.
Play anything from Roberta Flack, she was one of the greats.

This is a beautiful and appropriately spellbound reaction to a spellbinding performance of a spellbinding song.
Breathless moments!
Fantastic reaction to a fantastically hypnotic song. Well done.
I enjoyed your reaction felt the same way

If this doeant't bring tears to your eyes, nothing will. Please do her Killing Me Softly. Thanks !
Could anyone ask for a more romantic song?🌹🕊 Can you imagine being loved or loving so deeply?
I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Maybe the recorded version better because more strings and a little slower?
Roberta is amazing and this song is so beautiful and heartfelt as were many songs then. George Michael did a gorgeous and sensitive version of this too.
Yes Chad this is a great song from way back, thank you for featuring this song along with your great review, you were spot on.
So love this song! Great reaction too.

You must have felt love deeply yourself to be able to properly appreciate this.
I was 14 when I first heard this song and I still feel the same emotion you are feeling every time I listen this song. Amazing!
Most beautiful song ever made! Great reaction vid! Thx! I subd!
I agree with you. Such a precious song, sang with so much emotion. And yes, where is that song now. Thank you for that.

Definitely a personal feeling to this performance
Great response- good that you acknowledged having heard it before. A song like this deserves our honesty and gratitude!
This was my mom and dad's song. We played it at my mom's funeral. My dad passed two months after my mom in 2016

The original studio version is even better (IMO).
Nothing better.
Look into Burt Bacharach

Mhmhm..
You should react to Angelina Jordan singing to this song, but I worn u , u might need a tissue or two 😭
