I've been listening to this version for years now. It still kills me. So so beautiful.
I found this before the original. I didn't even this was a cover of the original until the chorus. This is such an amazing cover I could cry.
I was so lucky to see them live. They even took the time to talk to this shy guy who knew all the words to a few of their songs after the show. The kisses on my cheek will never be forgotten.

I was coming down here to comment the same thing! I’ve been a longtime fan of CS&N (&Y), and of Sufjan. Second song in (while listening to The Head and the Heart) and now I’m drawn into discovering more from these ladies.

I agree. Finding a cover better than the original isn't super rare nowadays, but finding one THIS MUCH better, I think is rare.
Another was Dimash Kudaibergen's version of SOS d'un terrien en detresse. The original was such a dusty, flaky thing and the cover gave me chills.

Every single time I listen to this, I get chills. And I’ve listened hundreds of times
While I'm a fan of Sufjan, I hadn't yet heard his version before I heard this cover. I was reluctant to go back and listen to his original version because I love his music and I didn't know how he could possibly sound this beautiful, and I felt like I would hate to be disappointed in him.
But I wasn't-not at all. It's just a very different performance when he does it, yet it's still the same song, the lyrics move me the same way, and I still sway to the rise and fall of the melody. He just does with polyphony what they do with harmony.
No, I wasn't disappointed at all; rather, I found myself with a gift, because in the end, I now I have twice as much of the song to listen to.
That's the spirit!

Defines harmony...those three women together exceed the bounds of special; beautiful to the eye and to the senses and to my very heart.....it is a great privilege to have lived and hear them sing, my soul resonates..... to you 'dear ladies' (I'm trying not to sound 'greasy' here!) I offer an old Irish phrase, an endearment...a chuisle mo chroi (the beat of my heart)....you need to hear it spoken to even begin to find the depth of love behind the words....listening to you sing, I'm pretty sure that phrase holds meaning.......
