Loved your craft space tour. Thank you for explaining the peg board attachment. I need something that doesn’t have to be attached to the wall, and think this may work for me, too. My craft space does triple duty (craft space, office, bedroom) and I need to maximize the space I have - I admire what you’ve done. Lots of wonderful ideas. I love Ikea, but get overwhelmed by everything in the store - your video created a great shopping list. Thank you for another great video!

I always try to pre-plan by going online first. I make lists, check them, double check them - try to visualize and later make a purchase. I too get overwhelmed, I'm a visual person and this pre-planning really helps me pick up the right things

We were just there to get this pegboard but unable to get a bracket that will affix to desk, only to the wall. I think the wall attachments will work fine for us.

Yana, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE your space and how you've organized it! Thank you SO much for sharing this--it's fantastic, and one of the most amazing creative spaces I've ever seen because it's efficient, it's attractive, and you have easy access to everything you need and use most. Awesome, chica! Absolutely awesome!

You produce so much with such a little area. Organizing is the key but I'm amazed at what all I have and don't do; 1/10th of what you do. So inspirational - it doesn't take money, space, things to create, just a love of art. Thanks for the tour.

I just found your channel and subscribed. You are amazingly creative and I absolutely love your craft corner. I agree with so many of the comments. One doesn’t need a huge space to produce beautiful cards...you are a testament to that Yana. Thank you so much for sharing your ideas and your space. As this is several months old and you mentioned moving back to the Ukraine, I hope you and your loved ones are safe in these uncertain times. 🙏🏻❤️

Dear Yana, thanks for showing us your craft corner and listing all the IKEA products you purchased for it. My family and I are moving into our new house in about 6 weeks and then I can create my first own craft room. Until now all my craft supplies are stored in 4 big SAMLA boxes from IKEA under our bench in the dining room. I only craft when my kids are in bed at night and then I have to put everything out of my boxes. When I am finished for the night until midnight, I have to put everything back in the boxes which takes me usually about 15 minutes. I am so looking forward to my craft room where I can store everything properly!

Wow Yana! You’ve made me rethink my craft work area. I too work out of a small space. It’s about the size of a closet and it’s filled to the rim! You’ve inspired me to take a very good look at what’s working for me and what I can do without. Although it’s difficult for me to get rid of anything cause... you know us crafters. We hoard everything! 😁 I’m going to use your cardstock make ready idea. It’s a time saver! I like how you’ve set everything up! Thank you for sharing your wonderful space with us! Hugs 🤗 all the way from Cypress, Texas! Sandi

I always believe that less is more, so I constantly purge and only stick to the must haves. It's a bit suffocating (to me) to have it all. At least not in a space this size

  • @olivemaycards

Thanks for sharing your cool small space. It's very bright and pretty. I wondered about why you store your most used things - stamping platform, trimmer, score board - in the very bottom drawer of the Alex? It seems harder to reach. Is that bottom drawer bigger (deeper?) than the other drawers? I think I would put the most used things higher and least used lower.

It is lovely to see someone with a compact space...those big craft rooms
look beautiful but would involve a lot of walking and stamping. I was gifted a big desk with a return and while it held more it was less functional than the 160cm length table I purchased. I have my Gemini junior to my left, adore it....shoulder /arm issues ,so l Judy love it beside me and no cranking...best investment. I love those big drawers for the stamps....they are tempting as I use baskets, cane and plastic rectangles for now. But they work! Thanks.

Love how well you've taken advantage of your space. The Alex units with their shallow drawers are perfect for crafts. I wish I had the space for one. To do that we'd need to completely dismantle the ell shaped floor to ceiling open wall unit (from IKEA) & buy replacement units. Not in the budget right now.p, someday! Currently I organise my things in bins that serve as organised kits & just pull them out as needed.

I store my embossing powders and a lot of other things like that in a drawer I get the white round labels and emboss or color in the label and then stick it to the jar lid so I can see all the colours when I open the drawer. Also maybe you can split up your recollections cube storage and put one cube each on top of the expidit for little used items.

that's fabulous!, I'm like you, I don't have a craft room, I have a desk in the living room, could you provide a link to the pegboard? I couldn't quite catch the name of it

Great work comes out of your "L"-shaped craft room, loved the tour, so neat & organized, i have an entire unused bedroom & it looks like a hurricane came through it, lol, time to clean up, which you have inspired me to do, ty!!!🌹☀️😁 Stamping Up used to sell an ink caddy, it holds, i believe 50-60 ink pads, it maybe discontinued though, worth it to check it out.

Love the new peg boards and containers, I’ve been looking for a way to store my Nuvo drops and embossing powders. Thanks for sharing.

I downsized into a porch which has so much more light, and arranged very similar, so I don’t have to keep getting up as I have replacement knees and hip. I’m very envious of all your ink pads. I’ve mainly got mini’s as I don’t do much inking per say. Thank you for sharing. X Ros

Hi Yana, I thought the SPRUTT unit you are using for your stamps was the answer to my prayers, but you say it is no longer available at IKEA! That is very sad! Could you give us the measurements for it? It looks perfect for many different types of stamps! Do you know if they make something or if they are planning to make something similar to replace it? Thank you so much for showing us your craft space! Your cards are always beautiful!

Love your space! I want to set up a corner as well in a spare room. Problem is my desk won't face the wall. So the pegboard... It can just be mounted onto the desk? No wall needed?

    • @Yana.Smakula
      @Yana.Smakula  6 років тому

yes, just be mounted to the desk. And this way it can also be used on both sides (like a space divider)

A great looking space...I have a question about the desktop. Purchased the top that comes with the two legs that were made for the Expedite about five years ago but have part of the clam that "hooks to the top and bottom of the shelves of the Expedite (now using a Kallax instead). The problem is the drawers will not work with it. Did you buy your top more recently as I asked and they said they weren't selling the one I had any more. I know they now have the option to "create" your own desktop and mine is getting all scratched up and fought looking. Since the attachments that hook the desk to the Kallax are visible and in the way I'd like to replace so I can do the same. The top left of mine has the drawers (which can be used in both the Kallax and Expedits which I used for Dylusions paints, gesso etc and have another on the top right but really wanted to put drawers on the bottom as well but probably only the front one as I have a plastic drawer system that works well of paper clips and other miscellaneous office supplies that are nice to have handy but not too handy know what I mean? The struggle is real. I need the Alex drawers...can you advise what top you purchased because it has a nice, clean look to it. Also I have those white containers in the lower back but they're in my lower right and not quite practical in the front as it's too easy to put stuff in front. Love your setup. Thx

When I bought it years ago it came together with the Kallax, like a system. Sorry I don't know the name/code for it. But, it does prevent me from putting drawers or any kind of insert for that matter into the 2nd from the bottom cubes because of that top/desk attachment. The 1st from the bottom, 3rd and 4th can have attachments no problem.

This is great! Thanks for sharing! Maybe someone mentioned it already but if you want you could have a rod coming out from the top of the shelf on the left that your camera could be mounted on and then you wouldn’t have to have a tripod on your desk. Just a thought.

Gorgeous craft corner. I have the peg board but haven't put it up yet, really handy to know that it can be attached to the desk instead of the wall. Also I love your art-work, where is it from?
