I think the gasoline engine takes over when hard acceleration occurs so I dont know if thats possible to do. Some EV only modes can only go up to certain speeds as well (e.g Toyota Yaris hybrid can go up to 30-37mph on electric power only under favourable conditions
@@zachlacomb378 You're technically right, but they're not that different. Camry is lighter, but only by 30 lbs. 3340 lbs for the Camry, 3370 lbs for the RAV4, Edmunds. Camry's drag coefficient is 0.28, RAV4s is 0.32. He's just quoting wrong 0-60 times. The 2.5l I4 Camry does 0-60 in 7.6-7.9s

Well ok ill admit it was only a matter of time before i did floor it and yes i did and boy it was fast. I topped out on a clear highway in daytime at 118mph. Also It really takes off at the red light. Im sort of confused because i thought it would be a slow because its hybrid. Maybe because of the electric motor. I can only imagine how much faster the v6 TRD version is.
They should make a Camry Hybrid MAX (the significantly faster and torqueyer (don’t know the right word) it’s on the tundra and the upcoming Toyota Crown
I have a 2020 hybrid le and its around 52mpg for me. Around 673 miles before refill. Update: well 2 months later its more like 48 mpg and around 600miles before refill. I guess its all about the way you drive
and maybe the e-CVT. It is an electromagnetic braked planetary gearbox. It need a typical planetary ratio for working efficiency the gears handing. The top speed is increaseable with a switchable final ratio gearbox, but I don't know they build this nowadays cars or not.

Hey 1001cars interesting video. Is the Hybrid quicker off the line than the gas model? Also, have you tried 0-60 in EV mode?
The regular I4 does it in 6.9 and the V6 does it in 5.6

No way it does 6.9s. It's 8.1s in the RAV4, same powertrain

The same as you compare 0-100 and 0-140 km/h. It is only 40% higher speed but it takes 81% more time.

this is ecvt. there are no physical gears. what you see on the screen is only virtual.
What about the fuel consumption?
