This is why we must keep this manager. Under a structure that will make sensible transfers, he can also use youth and develop them. If we get rid of ETH I fear we will lose the progress we’ve made with promoting youth players.
madnes people want him out ….. the mess he inherited and clear lack of structure to support a manager in best way is only being implemented now… he’s had to totally change the culture and reinstall the basic ‘old man utd player standards, professionalism and mentality which we haven’t seen in years …. discipline and player power needs stamped out .. he has made couple bad signings and clear to see he only pushed players he knew or from dutch league coz he didn’t trust our scouts ….
Exactly. What is the manager supposed to do in this situation? Try to get a team that’s already in pieces to play a style of football that these set of players had probably never played before? The best he could do is just to grind out the result until the summer. These players let down Rangnick, Ole, Jose and even for some, Van Gaal. They just can’t keep getting away with it
This is why Ole and ten Hag need to be appreciated a lot more, our academy is the heart of our club, and these 2 acknowledged it, and have worked hard to rejuvenate that connection to the furst team. The club better keep ten Hag and focus on improving the resources so that our academy can make us less vulnerable and dependant on transfer market pressures.

By the time Mourinho left, that pathway was in shambles, including academy development, when Ole was here, they worked on things as mentioned in the video, the next step was to connect the academy with the first team, and the way academy players have been playing since ten Hag has arrived, it looks more in sync with what he wants to develop, sad part is, there are too many players in the first team who are misfits to this, because of which we can't see it in the first team, but credit where credit is due to build a connectivity, it definitely will show its results only if ten hag is given time to refresh the squad over time with academy and right transfer expertise with new structure.

I'm not saying Ten Hag is guaranteed to be a success at man United, but the 2 most successful managers in our history have had 1 thing in common, an emphasis on not only the youth team players but having United play the same way on all levels of the club.

Tactically tweaking the youth team to have the same philosophy as Ten Hag's first team is what Klopp has done at Liverpool. This is why Ten Hag is the manager to keep and he will bring success, but it takes time.

Good video but felt Guzman(scout) should of been mentioned as he found Garnacho, along with scouts we poached from Man City at youth level. Guzman btw found Senna, Arda Turan ad Greizman when he worked Spain.

Ok now i have to dissagree with one topic here. "The main goal is not to win the league, but make them ready for the first team". So winning is to print in a winning mentality into the players minds. So with that they are ready and no lack of confidence when they get picked up to the first team. This is VERY, VERY important for the youth players. But other than that a very interesting video. I remember watching the academy back in Brian McClair era, around mid 00s, and notice how similar the playing style was to the senior team. The formation, the buildup, pattern of play, pretty much every team aspect. I guess United just went back to what they used to be doing, instead of it being a revolutionary thing.
People are overrating ETH on the comments it's not only about academy players when you are a manager it's also about how you spend money ETH spent more than 86 millions on Anthony whise actual prize was 25 millions killing his career even the academy players after making it too The Senior team they will still need time to develop and need experience players who are also great which Uni right now doesn't have
As a Ajax fan that is chronically depressed since EtH left us I can guarantee that if he his given enough time he will make 1 of the best premier league teams in history
