I think the biggest thing that triggers these women is the fact that our generation is getting older and honestly it sucks lol. We're in our mid 30s and it sucks to not be in the know anymore. I remember the first time I felt that way I was hanging out at my sister's house and was spending time with my niece - I was like 26 and she was 16. We were watching a movie and she kept saying slang words I hadn't heard before and it hit me like a ton of bricks had fallen on my head. Like wow I'm old now and I'm just going to get older and older. I know most of these women are prob joking but they seem to be taking it a little too seriously. It's ok guys- it's used to be us making fun of our parents and know we're not the youngest generation anymore.

That is actually a quite interesting point of discussion! In my bachelor thesis I wrote about the generational conflicts in the workspace and a lot of conflicts can be traced down to this! Thinking our gen is better then the following. I would definitely recommend the paper by Protzko, John and Schooler Jonathan: Kids these days: why the youth of today seem lacking
I am like two years off of thirty and this kind of shit is the exact reason I decided to stay away from anything newer than Twitter when it comes to social media.

@@zacharywindover9840 Some of the boomers didn't trust the over 30s, it was a thing. But I *think* they did respect elders more generally. I do think treating older people as one homogenous group, disrespecting them, is like any other type of discrimination. The same as Gen Z/Millennials don't want to be, even if there may be some average overall differences on the whole. Also older people have to deal with things most younger people haven't yet, like lack of energy, more physical pain, being more invisible due to not being seen as conventionally attractive, and then to automatically be treated with ageism like being assumed to be stupid but not respected for wisdom they do have etc is prob not great. I think unfortunately, some older people seeming less open minded is due to them growing up in a different era (which is difficult to understand and accept when you haven't, probably like future generations will not understand or accept why we were not all vegan), plus very old people on average probably find it harder to learn new things, due to biological reasons (brains basically not as flexible as they've already developed their schema of seeing the world), so it's partly not their fault. Bit of both.
