Well, I'm Turkish and I would affirm that it's exactly the same in Turkey; Greeks and Armenians are considered outside enemies against whom a great deal of hatred is pumped up. Basically nationalisms need historical enemies to reproduce themselves through various social mechanisms and media have always been a functional in this sense.

In Syria they protect their border and interests backed by the adana agreement.
The influx of 3.7 million refugees to their country gives them a certain right to have interests in Syria. They are the first country getting affected by the turmoil there. In addition there's another 4 million people in Idlib which could be bombed into Turkey by Russia & Assad.

The same country that considers Palestinians freedom fighters but Greeks and Kurds terrorists. That much consistency!
Who is naive enough so as to believe a single word about good will/intentions being spoken out of the mouth of a turkish politician?
Turkey, and before that the Ottoman empire, systematically kills, destroys, annihilates all other nationals within her lands. Greeks, Assyrians, Armenians, Kurds know.

Very interesting @user-it6jy6xr6s I wonder why you dont use your real name.
By your example lets define greek people. But before thwe I want to emphasize PEOPLE AND NATION ARE NOT THE SAME for those of you who wants to escalate the matter further.
You say Turks committed genocide. How about Turkish genocide is Aegean region. 5/42 Regiment in greco-turkish war named Satan's army. Wht they are called that? Because they defecated in holy texts. Killed pregnant women and put teh unborn babies on their bayonets.
I dont know about Greek and Assyrian genocides but yes many armenian people killed. But Personally dont believe its genocide.
According to 13th article of Treaty of Lausanne you cant build military installations on 12 islands. But guess who broke the rules?
Your country during the World war I excavated muslim cemeteries to build churches.
Your greek people under the idea of enosis killed many innocent cypriot just because they were of Turkish origin. Many women were raped. That was the Genocide in my opinion.
Also dont trust any politician whether Turkish Greek or any other nation.
So get your brain out of your wherever you put it and make your own investigation. Just dont buy bullshit from internet or TV propaganda.

Here's a great Irish proverb: “If two neighbors are fighting, there's an Englishman that has visited one of them yesterday”.

I grew up with this issue and old enough to live 60' and 70's times. If we talk about history, following your methodology, Greeks are NOT the owner of Anatolia, before greeks invaded Anatolia, many other cultures used to leave. Same for latin America... and as well as North America. since the British arrived to the Nort America population of native American populatin decreased by 174 milyon with in 200 years. Cyprus was an Ottoman, and loan to the British, like Hong Kong. IF Greek fascist was not involved, Cyprus, today was a 1 country. The ıslenad had many brutality and killings of Turkish populations before the 1974 peace war. the previous intentions to bring peace to the island failed number of times. Cyprus was a independent country under guarantee of 3 counreşs: UK-Greece-Turkiye. so, it is in fact meeting responsibility of Turkish Govern ement to do, secure Turkişh population. Since 1974 peace war, not a single individual cıvıclınas died. I think thşs şs very good result. Look at what happened in Yugoslavia, and process of Yugoslavia. now we have many countries after Yugoslavia break up. why not in Cyprus? Only way go forward, 2 independent country. After this agreement, individuals decisions must be respeted who ever wants to go their homes.... but must be respected and protected their rights. Thank you.

So in other words, he did not care about the Turkish Cypriots but about the safety of Turkish troops. He'd just wanted the half part of Cyprus, not the peace and the rights of Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus. Also Turkish Cypriots moved to the Turkish part with safety, but not any village was given back to the Cypriot government.

viewerlife nope. Both Turkish Cypriots and Turkish forces were trapped and in danger which he just said that. And secondly we were okay to give some of this land in annan plan but greek Cypriots refused that (Turkish Cypriots said okay to annan plan) of course you will ask ''why greek Cypriots didnt wanna the annan plan?'' It is simple, because they wanted all islands for themselves... they didnt want a Turkish state in island. If they want to have some of the lands they will first gonna regornize the the Turkish state of Northern Cyprus, or there will be no deal.

@@editht.4832 Anan plan included Turkey as a guarantor and Greek Cypriots do not want this. They suggested EU as a guarantor. Moreover, ANAN plan included two separated communities...but the two communities need to work together not in parallel. We need cross voting in the election eg. Greek Cypriots can vote for Turkish Cypiots MP to a percentage of 20-30%. I voted for the ANAN plan but it was not a good plan. This does not mean that Greek Cypriots do not want peace.

@@viewerlife 1)Greek Cypriots have murdered more than 400 Turkish civillians before Turkey came (EOKA-B - Bloody Christmas) Turkish Cypriots doesnt have any reason to trust them, thats why Turkish cypriots wants Turkish army to stay... So if any other attack against Turkish cypriots began, we can stop it... Greeks doesnt want it so they can murder Turks much more easly... Thats not gonna happen. If greeks doesnt attack Turkish cypriots, Turkey is ready to protect greek cypriots too, but of course first they should get rid of this Turkophobia.
There should be no cross voting. 2 comminities means two different federal states, and if we think there is 4 greeks for every Turk in island, it must be understandable why Turkish cypriots doent want this while greeks like this idea... Greeks of cyprus should stay in their own part of island and they should keep their helenistic emotions to themselves.
Annan plan was offered a realistic peace. Not dreams but a realistic peace for both greeks and Turkish cypriots... Greek cypriots choose their dreams over realty, in coming decades, their dreams will lose its worth more and more and until there is nothing left than maybe we can talk about peace once more, but if not They should get used to Turkish military bases.
