As someone who loves platformers, stealth games and the classic Star Wars trilogy, this game sounds right up my alley. Even if I had an Xbox/PC I'd still wait for them to patch out all the major bugs (enemies seeing you from way too far away, through solid objects, etc). One review I read talked about just walking through one of the major cities and becoming immersed because of all the excellent detail. As a huge fan of The Witcher 3 and Dead Redemption 2, that damn near sold me right there, I tell you what.
This would be a good game if an in-game resource was like Radio Free Coruscant, reviewing and outlining all the kinds of ships and tools to best suit your needs and aspirations.
Always thought playing as a Han Solo like character would be more fun then being the usual Jedi. Just wondering why it took ages for someone to pick up that idea.

I got the Star Wars: Outer Rim board game (and its expansion) as a birthday gift last month, and I've been addicted to it. I've been interested in games where you can play as a bounty hunter or smuggler, so I'm cautiously curious about Outlaws. It's neat to hear your hands-on thoughts.

If this game wasn't made by Ubisoft, I may have been inclined to get it, but I'm more inclined to believe that it will be an unfinished mess of bugs that isn't anywhere close to being worth their $70 price tag. Maybe in a few years when I can get it for $10.

I really want to get this! I’m admittedly wary about getting a Ubisoft game, not for the formula drama, but the company culture. I really want to get a cool new Star Wars game though!
i have heard a lot of people who have played it say its similar to uncharted but in the Star Wars world, i am really excited about that, well as long as its more like the older games not the watered down 4th game
I think it would be awesome if this game kay is a scoundrel but let’s say by the 3rd game she’s a skilled Jedi.. that would be pretty dope. Maybe somewhere along her journey she meets a Jedi , and becomes a padawan? Idk. I think that would be pretty cool.
As someone who’s name is Mike, that opening really threw me for a loop for a moment haha Looks interesting! Never played the uncharted games, always wanted to, maybe this will be a good gateway into that genre
Hey Mike, it is interesting that your gaming roots includes X-Wing. I bet this is why you play with inverted settings? As for me I solely blame X-Wing as the reason why I can only play with inverted settings as well. Well, that and Elite. Cheers!
I would love a game that was like GTA but set in the Star Wars universe. Imagine stealing an x-wing flying from the planet into space for combat then landing on a different planet to steal an AT AT and just cause havoc.
Yeah. It's interesting. I keep waiting for the shoe to drop and something godawful to be revealed right before release, just like what happened with EA Battlefront 2. But so far... it looks great.
There's the alternative 'Out for a week or a month, then reveal monetization scheme after reviews are out and the initial rush of buying the game has happened'.
Will I be able to meet or run into fan favorite characters from other Star Wars media, such as morally-gray, rogue archaeologist, Doctor Aphra? That would be super cool!
Depends on when in between Empire and Jedi it takes place I think. Don’t know how it is in the new EU, but in the pre-Disney EU, Fett got sidetracked on his way back to Jabba with Han; every big name bounty hunter in the galaxy was after him to try and steal Han from him so they could collect the bounty, and several even teamed up to try and do it, but Fett was able to outwit them and get to Jabba.
Show of the Week is back, baby! It's a bit sad that we haven't had a Show of the Weekend in a while, but at this point I'll take what I can get. I know IGN isn't letting anyone hire additional help.
As an Elite: Dangerous player, I was a little hopeful that the ship landing sequence was entirely manual and difficult. I know I’m in the minority but I’d love a proper flight sim set in the Star Wars universe.
I'm definitely up for a game where you're playing a Han(nah) Solo instead of a stupid space wizard. Not all the previews have been as positive as this so I guess there are a few reasons for concern, but the general concept absolutely chimes with me. Also: "... the more recent Star Wars games, particularly Jedi Outcast, Jedi Survivor..." I obviously know what you mean there, and that title would have made perfect sense as the name, but the (also great) Jedi Outcast actually came out 22 years ago, so is hard to describe as "recent".
It looks exactly like every other third person action/adventure game with light RPG and stealth mechanics, just with a Star Wars coat painted over it. I really want to be excited for Star Wars projects but it's hard to when there is zero creativity in the franchise.

I’m not a Star Wars fan but I’m definitely buying this because I enjoyed the last games. Then I’ll get AC Shadows because it looks sick and they saved AC series with Mirage that I loved but if y’all played Mirage you should it turn the series around for the better
Cantobite is one of the most Star Wars things to ever happen. It's a single small city surrounded by fields & ocean, and it's basically Monte Carlo (as opposed to Nar Shadaa, which is a planet-wide Vegas). I'll never understand why that, of all things, bothered people
I think, maybe it's because it got too, "real" for some people. Like, Canto Bight was filled with rich people not caring about the fight going on around them and just focused on profiteering off the suffering of others and they're making a lot of money off of it. It's so evil yet so morally grey at the same time like real life whereas the basic premise of Star Wars has always been simple: bad guys get red Lightsabers, good guys get blue/green Lightsabers. Star Wars has evolved since then, sure, but the premise of what is good and what is evil has not strayed from that simplicity. Even in a show like Andor, you can clearly see the line that divides good from evil but Canto Bight didn't really have that. DJ even pointed it out in that scene where he shows that the person they stole the yatch from sells to both the First Order, and the Rebellion.

Also I follow a Twitcher who is SW-centric and she's already put together a killer Kay Vess cosplay and has already received praise from Kay Vess' actress (who is uber cool with fans already ^^)!
X Wing Alliance.
Dark Forces.
There are games...

Just existing in the Star wars universe was one of the great things about SWG. I miss that game.
SWG is still going strong. Come join it again at SWG Legends. SWG will always be the first open world star wars game, I don't know why these imposters always quote that outlaws is the first open world star wars game.
@@Oluabayo because this is a true open world game, you have games like KOTOR 1 and 2, SWTOR, Lego star wars complete sega etc these all have open worlds but they are not TRUE open worlds like Assassins creed, GTA, Red Dead that type of open world
Best part about this is spending the $30 for that ONE quest you don't get with the base game. I really hope everyone doesn't mind that though... it's just a AAA game afterall.
bit weird to cry about it now its been a thing since around 2010 and even a bit earlier - ahh its Ubisoft so you have to cry extra loud
This looks like the perfect thing to get when it goes on sale
It does look very OG Star Wars in vibe and construction. If it nails that and has a good gameplay loop then sold
I love when Star Wars has something unconventional like a desert.
Tatooine is not simply a desert. It's a desert planet orbiting around two twin suns, with two separate mysterious indigenous species of unknown origins, and alien farming methods (because there's no water to farm conventionally)
It also has sand which is coarse and gets everywhere
@@StingRayo98 I have read Dune. Do you want thanks regardless?
@@mar_speedman So not a desert, but a desert with Aliens. How very unique of Star wars.
@@username1660 You should get an award for the dumbest sentence of the month. So brain dead, I almost died
Love to see these blokes together again
I’m pretty psyched for this one, looks as if it’s shaping up really nicely. And Nyx, the little axolotl dog, is a great companion. I’m not a fan of puzzles and minigames in general, but these seem doable and not totally immersion breaking. If the game is fun enough, I’ll allow it!
You can turn off the mini games in the settings if you don’t like them.
9:21 So what you're saying is the NPCs come with corpse blindness already built in? Damn, this game really is right up Mike's alley.
This seems like a much more honest review than the stuff Lunar Squadron is coming out with. "Heres a HUGE UPDATE. It's the same thing we talked about in the last few videos." 😂
12:19 it's a bit weird to go through this barrage of clouds and after you emerge from it it's clear skies above you :D
but I agree, still much better than in Starfield.
I have a lot of respect for you guys and your opinions and its refreshing not hearing this game getting slagged off like other reviewers have
You forgot to mention that a lot of special bonusses can come from clothes you can buy or get as a reward, even with set bonusses, I like the whole system, did 100 % had one bug a few fun glitches and love it.
All Aurebesh sequences are real you can translate them if you know it.
Also there is NIX which is reason enough to buy it^^
There are missions without him and you see what you miss then
Damn, I had hoped Massive would be deep into Division 3 production.
“You don’t see a single Jedi”…
Done, sold. Enough with the Jedi.
Would be pretty rad if Vader made an appearance, especially with his earlier dealings with bounty hunters.
It does look good and I may consider getting it, but I'm still annoyed about the canceled Mandalorian FPS that respawn were working on.😔
If this game wasn't made by Ubisoft, I may have been inclined to get it, but I'm more inclined to believe that it will be an unfinished mess of bugs that isn't anywhere close to being worth their $70 price tag. Maybe in a few years when I can get it for $10.
Well...wait for the reviews lol. You don't have to get it day one, but also not in 10 years. Wait for the reviews and get it if they say it's good
yo, it went gold guys
I want a space cat!
EDIT: or as a friend said.. a space axolotl.. or a catxolotl
Screw cats, I want a space platypus!
I'm wondering whether this will end up scratching the itch Starfield failed to scratch.
I think my Sisters got the same Sofa in red. 😂
My wife has the same one in black ;)
I think I got your sister on the same sofa in red 😂
Best gaming channel on YT!
So being science fiction, the cat is basically a dog....good. I am not a fan of the space flight fighting sections in some games but ya gotta Love a motorbike...
I hope one day we get a full open world, star wars RPG with a serious character creator
(then again give starfield modders some more time and we might just get that)
I want KOTOR world building but force unleashed type combat
There is nothing to savr with starfield lol
The Saboteur needed no Yellow paint, you just got a feel for traversable ledges after a short tutorial. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked pretty well.
The Saboteur is one of my all time favorites. The swan song of Pandemic Studios. Badly needs a remaster for modern systems.
@@russ99a I’m frantically nodding in agreement. I played it til my 360’s died.
at this point, for AAA games its just easier to assume its shit until it can prove itself otherwise.
Waiting for a sale on this one, but I *might* play it. I'm pretty burnt on Star Wars.
I'll be getting black myth wukong in august that game does look amazing, i may get this in a sale
Mostly I hope the PC performance doesn't have issues. Even months after release Star Wars Jedi Survivor had them according to Digital Foundry, so I decided not to take a punt on that game, even at sale price.
Can't wait for this.
I really want to get this! I’m admittedly wary about getting a Ubisoft game, not for the formula drama, but the company culture. I really want to get a cool new Star Wars game though!
Remember: 70$ for a 30 hrs incomplete game with a season pass. Season pass in a single player game. Don't fall for it.
@@dissuede6949 That’s another thing, I can’t really afford it
@@Zenlore6499 No sane person would buy that shit for that price in this economy. It's like they believe money grows on gd tree's.
Star Wars Galaxy was a good open world, would be cool to see that applied on a grander scale. Hopefully this leads to something like that
i have heard a lot of people who have played it say its similar to uncharted but in the Star Wars world, i am really excited about that, well as long as its more like the older games not the watered down 4th game
I think it would be awesome if this game kay is a scoundrel but let’s say by the 3rd game she’s a skilled Jedi.. that would be pretty dope. Maybe somewhere along her journey she meets a Jedi , and becomes a padawan? Idk. I think that would be pretty cool.
If you are in Mos Eisley, take a good look at the cantina...
As someone who’s name is Mike, that opening really threw me for a loop for a moment haha
Looks interesting! Never played the uncharted games, always wanted to, maybe this will be a good gateway into that genre
Never forget that Ubisoft wants gamers to give up on the idea of owning the games for which we've paid $70+. They are anti-consumer AF.
You can shut off the easy mode ships targeting, making it harder if you want
This... suprisingly doesnt look like more Ubisoft corporate slush-mush! Kind of excited now, actually!
Prince of Persia is one of the best games I've played this year.
Have you seen the prices and versions? It's absolutely still that
Don't fall for it. They're gonna milk the ever living f out of this lukewarm garbage.
Will I be able to meet or run into fan favorite characters from other Star Wars media, such as morally-gray, rogue archaeologist, Doctor Aphra? That would be super cool!
Wasn't sure about this game but now this sounds cool to play.
The super potato shirt is pretty cool
Think I saw an imperial heavy repeater in the suspended weapons
So, chronologically it would seem Jabba is still in posession of Han in popsicle form, wouldn't it?
Depends on when in between Empire and Jedi it takes place I think. Don’t know how it is in the new EU, but in the pre-Disney EU, Fett got sidetracked on his way back to Jabba with Han; every big name bounty hunter in the galaxy was after him to try and steal Han from him so they could collect the bounty, and several even teamed up to try and do it, but Fett was able to outwit them and get to Jabba.
Yes. You can actually see him in a trailer haha
Great video, thank you Andy and Mike.
You have given me...Hope
Check out the pricing. It's a Ubiscam.
I’d be ok if they brought out a load of dlc for this
Really proud of Andy for not being smug at all 😂
Show of the Week is back, baby!
It's a bit sad that we haven't had a Show of the Weekend in a while, but at this point I'll take what I can get. I know IGN isn't letting anyone hire additional help.
So lovely to have people reviewing a star war game who have proper knowledge of the Star Wars universe and are clearly fans
Mike defending corpse blindness, bless.
omg, they brought back the star wars squadrons/battlefront dogfighting combat!!!!!
The space battles and travel remind me a lot of LEGO Star Wars: the Skywalker Saga
I hope you can toggle that ship targeting thing
You can sic cute animals at bad guys to distract them and then punch them in the Ugnods. Just as George Lucas intended.
That does seem like something that would happen in the prequels, doesn't it?
@@coyoteone6197well the OT weren’t far off that with the Ewoks TF. 🤷🏻♂️
Can’t wait! Now i’m more excited! Thanks for the video 🙂
As someone who has never owned a PlayStation, and hence never played Uncharted, I'm dying to try something Unchartedy
Right, so the upcoming Star Wars game is an Uncharted game, and the upcoming Indiana Jones game is a first person shooter. Got it.
As an Elite: Dangerous player, I was a little hopeful that the ship landing sequence was entirely manual and difficult.
I know I’m in the minority but I’d love a proper flight sim set in the Star Wars universe.
Check out the Star Wars Interworlds mod for X4.
I'm definitely up for a game where you're playing a Han(nah) Solo instead of a stupid space wizard. Not all the previews have been as positive as this so I guess there are a few reasons for concern, but the general concept absolutely chimes with me.
Also: "... the more recent Star Wars games, particularly Jedi Outcast, Jedi Survivor..." I obviously know what you mean there, and that title would have made perfect sense as the name, but the (also great) Jedi Outcast actually came out 22 years ago, so is hard to describe as "recent".
this is probably the first star wars game i have looked forward to in a long time because of the no jedi thing so here's to hoping none show up.
So they way the discribe it being a metroidvania makes me think this game is basically ReCore.
It looks exactly like every other third person action/adventure game with light RPG and stealth mechanics, just with a Star Wars coat painted over it. I really want to be excited for Star Wars projects but it's hard to when there is zero creativity in the franchise.
As well as nothing but hate for the IP and fans from Di$ney.
Watch Andor, it's absolute fire. Very creative and unique
@@drakenraugh1841 Kind'a hard to do when you cancel Di$ney, their products and parks out of your life because you feel that your kids' safety and well-being is more important than the absolute sh*t they're pushing on them.
@@drakenraugh1841Mate, can you imagine an Andor-esque SW game with RP, quests, stealth, sabotage, etc.?! If done right, it would be amazing!
To each their own. I've always wanted a third person action/adventure title in the SW universe, so that's a positive for me. You're not a Jedi, you get to explore the underworld, roam around in space and on planets, that's more than enough for me actually.
"I didnt see a single Jedi" - Order 66 ...
Anyone bothered by the fact that Nix is Toothless (from How to Drain Your Dragon) with fur?
were these vertical slice chunks.
