    I’ve read 5 Tessa Bailey books this year based on your recommendation and she has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Plus her tiktoks are hilarious 🤣

    you introduced to olivia waite's sapphic romances and it got me back into romance again! i got into a slump picking up all those general fiction romances that my bookstore pushes to me, yknow the typical graphic illustration with bright colours and too cheesy writing! im a person of cheese and yet, i found it too corny and had not fun.

    I haven't yet read Love Chai.... however, lemme put in a bit of context as an immigrant. Many countries are like that. Old school parents who want you to marry within your culture, tribes etc. Even in India, you could get disowned for marrying someone out of your caste. Yes, it's a thing. Maybe that's why the protagonist (who was probably raised in that culture and was only here for school) didn't really really quarrel with her parents over this decision. 🤔

      i have a v similar background as the heroine in that book and such families are heavily looked down upon in india. siblings and other family members will also look down/frown upon such archaic behavior. so it is not the norm at all and not taking issue with your parents for that is shitty and again not something that is common or looked upon as "it is what it is". It is def not what it is and no one needs to be reading about that i would have DNFed as well

    • @MsHenrei

      @@ninjaturtles12121
      I'm sure they are looked down upon. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen though. I never said it's the norm. Just trying to put context there that it's a thing that happens you know....

    • @ninjaturtles12121
      @ninjaturtles12121 2 роки тому

      @@MsHenrei but that's my point that it is not common, it's something that happens in the extreme fringes of the society. And was so unnecessary for any plot development of that book and if anything paints the protagonist in a bad light and makes her unlikable for putting up with that behavior when in reality that wouldn't have been the case irrespective of the parents' choices.
