- Good morning!
We may feel God has called us to a difficult time in our lives and it may feel like being in a wilderness.
We are not alone, in these hard times He will protect us, He may be preparing us, he will provide for us and He is still powerfully at work in us, do we have the eyes to see what He is doing? The Lord bless you as you watch and worship Him.
Song 1: Still My Soul be Still (by Keith Getty / Stuart Townend / Kristyn Lennox Getty 2009)
Still, my soul be still
And do not fear
Though winds of change may rage tomorrow
God is at your side
No longer dread
The fires of unexpected sorrow
God, You are my God
And I will trust in You and not be shaken
Lord of peace renew
A steadfast spirit within me
To rest in You alone
Still, my soul be still
Do not be moved
By lesser lights and fleeting shadows
Hold onto His ways
With shield of faith
Against temptation's flaming arrows
God, You are my God
And I will trust in You and not be shaken
Lord of peace renew
A steadfast spirit within me
To rest in You alone
Still, my soul be still
Do not forsake
The truth you learned in the beginning
Wait upon the Lord
And hope will rise
As stars appear when day is dimming
God, You are my God
And I will trust in You and not be shaken
Lord of peace renew
A steadfast spirit within me
To rest in You alone
I rest in You alone
In You alone
Song 2: I am in Awe (by Hopestream Worship)
I am in awe of You my Saviour
I want the world to know Your worth
I kneel in worship at Your tear drenched feet
You’re my all, Jesus you, are my King
Chorus:
Here in Your presence
All I have I give to You
If My life is a fragrance
Then I will pour it out for You
Verse 2:
You are the glorious King of Heaven
All of creation sings Your praise
Yet by Your grace You have forgiven me
Merciful, You are kind, You are good
Bridge:
Even in the pain, (You are worthy)
Even in the joy, (You are worthy)
Even when life falls apart
You are worthy to be praised
The reading also reminded me of Exodus, God frees his people from the tyranny of Pharoah and leads them through the wilderness where they learn a new way of living, by relying on God's provision and trusting that he will provide for all our needs. They also eventually came out of the wilderness and into a more full relationship with God and ways of living with one another
Thank you, Sue and Polly. Sue, your word and song encouraged me and gave hope today!
