I met Dav Pilkey, man behind the legendary Captain Underpants books, at a book convention for his Dog Man series back in 2016. Good times were had by all, and I’m still pooped.
Idk about y'all but I blame Jeff Kinney for keeping Greg as a middle schooler for like 5 school years in the books, if he let him go to high school his old actor Zachary Gordon could come back and play him as a highschooler. We can still save this!! The old audience would immediately come back, he could change the tone of the books to be more mature for the old audience that grew up. Every since Old school I've noticed a decline in the story. Jeff is running out of material to keep the middleschool thing interesting, he could easily bring his old audience back and the actors too if he released Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Graduation Year. And Greg goes to highschool and everyone comes back

@@vensrinivasan3097 yea but he worked as a consultant I think he should’ve had at least did some of the writing just like the original trilogy because he played as holly’s dad and made a few cameos in all movies or at least thought was him lmao all I’m saying is he should’ve at least done more in the movies casting and writing wise
I met Jeff Kenny too it was a competition and I won! Me and like 30 other kids met him on live radio and asked him questions this was when the getaway was brand new they gave all of us a free copy of it signed and it was great
Met him when he did a signing YEARS back when I was a kid, around 3rd or 4th grade in Manhattan. I’m 23 now, time flies, but he was a SUPER friendly guy, I still have his signatures in the first book with drawings of some of the characters AND Roderick Rules. It was REALLY early, maybe before the 3rd book came out. Great memories, gotta dig those copies up! 😎👏🏻
He didn’t direct the movie he didn’t write the script and I don’t think the plot was so bad I think the only reason people hate it is because of the new cast they grew out of their roles and there’s nothing Jeff Kinney can do about it
