Thanks for the newest videos.
And to the rythm section, steady and fine backing from tuba, washboard and banjo.
Merry christmas to you all!
Many thanks. I must admit 'St. James Infirmary', though unusual and probably unique in traditional jazz repertoire, is not one of my favourite tunes: it is very short, with a dreary melody, and dependent so much (about half of it) on the C minor chord. However, everything you touch turns to gold. This performance is thoroughly enjoyable and absorbing. Supported by the tasteful rock-solid rhythm section, the trombone, clarinet and trumpet solos are teasingly clever; and the long-note support for the banjo works well. Nora's unamplified singing is just right and, as ever, Coline's playing is exemplary in providing the foundation on which it is all built. Adrien's brave end to the final chorus (in Louis Armstrong high-note territory) was splendid and had me holding my breath while he went for that high Concert C - not easy in the open air on a cold day!
Well said :)
You are the jazz band I want on my hearse wagon! When I'm getting ready to go I'll give you a call.
You‘re brilliant!
To go to Toulose.
