    I really love your videos! They really helped me out to figure out what to do with the dolls who have heads too hard for reroots, but have terrible hair - Just make a yarn wig :3
    Also, now that i've just started out, i'm testing with what things i can get away with. So far, for securing a reroot, i've used glue that's made for wood (my father said that it'd work, so if anything- i can blame him). With the same wood glue, i made a wig cap for the doll that i'm currently working on. And the last thing, that i tested a few hours ago - Securing the wefts onto the wig cap with hot glue, and surprisingly - it seems to work, i tried it on a failed wig cap (i cut off too much) and a weft that ended up being too thin. The only minus is that you really do have to act fast, but since i'm a pretty impatient person, i'd rather test how quick i can work, rather than waiting for the glue to dry.

    I was wondering if there was a separate way to make shorter haircuts using acrylic yarn in case someone wanted to make a wig for a boy or tomboyish doll? Or can you just make a wig using this method and then just cut it to the length you want it to be?

    how do you get your hair so long? with mine wig the longest strands only reach just below shoulders. and could you make a tutorial were you have only the midsection point to the back. (like a ponytail, only then are all the strands towards the back) *apologies if my english is not correct

    Can you style wigs with pigtails and braids and stuff or do you have to make the wig with those things from the beginning. Like with hair you can put it in a ponytail. Or braid or whatever. So I'm asking if you can do the same with a wig. Also is the yarn hair sticky or oily? After gluing it down?

    Hello Mozekyto! Thank you for your wig tutorials! :) I am making my fave band out of Bratz dolls & needed to do 'hair'! My daughter had a few extensions left over so she gave them to me! I wondered wat' the dark lines are at the tops of your wefts? Is that dried glue? I didn't get that on mine.....I had such a hard time keeping the wefts to stay together & when I cut them straight after the glue had dried, hair came out of them! :( Also when I did the middle part, I don't know if my glue lines are too thick, but I had a hard time 'flipping' the weft over & my glue definitely wasn't holding like yours! I had to wait till' the glue was completely dry! I definitely am doing something wrong & wished you lived near by to help me! LOL ;)

      Ah! great idea! Will definitely do that since there's just so many brands to choose from. I'll put it on my list :D And as for losing lots of fibers, yup sadly you will indeed lose a lot! honestly i don't mind because yarn is VEEEERY cheap (at least in my country) compare to other fibers used in doll wigs. what i do, i keep em because i know i can use them for other doll projects or well pillow fluff! :D

    Do you have to make the wig cap or can you glue it directly to the dolls head?

    • @ssseraphim
      @ssseraphim 6 років тому

      Regan Jones
      Sorry for being 4 months late, but yes, you can glue it to the doll's head but I recommend making a wig cap if you decide to make different hairstyles for the same doll. I am doing this soon and the doll that I'm making has about 3 hairstyles so I would make 3 wigs with wig caps so I can change them out. So basically, make a wig cap if you want to have the hair be interchangeable.

      Shiyuri Kei Caron simply soft is the best that I have found with cheaper rolls of yarn, but any of the "softer" acrylic yarns are generally more convincing as hair because the regular stuff can be wiry.

    Do you need to let the glue dry all the way before fliping it over and clipping it?

    question (that might be stupid): why not sticking the hair things directly on the head rather than on the cloth thing? Would that work? I mean instead of rerooting? thank you :)

      Might have something to do with the cloth fabric instead of going straight onto plastic, but I'm sure you can glue the cap down if you want it to be permanent.

    Please do a tutorial on Rey’s trilogy pony? There’s no tutorials for it on UA-cam, and I’m repainting a doll to look like Rey with a wig cap and yarn wefts.

    How was your first doll customizing experience? Were you scared at first?
    (Personally I would love to make a wig like that but I don't have a bald doll and I would never dare to cut off my dolls' hair)
