My dad taught business at Morningside from 1975-1980. He died two weeks ago. Would have been cool for him to see this. RIP pops.

3 Iowa schools were in the semi finals: Morningside, Grandview, and Northwestern. Lindsey Wilson was the other (from Kentucky).
Iowa schools kinda dominate NAIA in recent years. Same could be said with JUCO, with Iowa Western and Iowa Central.

How well would the NAIA play against the IVY LEAGUE (Division 1AA)?
the better NAIA teams, such as Morningside, are around NCAA D2 level, so i doubt they would beat an Ivy League school. however, it is _plausible_ they could upset one of the worse ivy league schools (such as Brown or Cornell)
@@nikoflow_fm9541 I went to Brown in the late 80s, and we were always challenging for the title, usually 2nd. It's strange to see how they've fallen. I guess it comes in waves. On what you said, you're probably right.
@@Nonpeon Yeah, unfortunately Brown has fallen quite a bit in the past few years : ( I recently learned Zak DeOssie (Giants long snapper, i remember playing him in Madden haha) was from Brown, so that’s cool. He’s the last player I can remember from Brown getting NFL playing time.
@@nikoflow_fm9541 Michael Hoecht, a defensive lineman, is playing for the Rams now. Not sure if he is younger or older than Zak. Strangely, he recalled getting beat 3 out of 4 times by Dartmouth. We OWNED Dartmouth, Columbia, Yale, Princeton when I was there, and we beat Cornell 3 out of 4 years. We had trouble only with Penn, the perennial Ivy Champion in that period, and lost to Harvard 3 out of 4 years, 2 of which were flukes as our offensive surrendered the ball several times, basically giving them the game. The only time Harvard really played us tough was my senior year (1987). In 1985 we had 4 shutouts out of 10 games, the best defense I've ever played for even though the record didn't reflect that. My Senior year, 1987, we went 7 - 3, losing to hapless Pennsylvania, by that time a HasBeen, Harvard and Holy Cross. Oh well. Time marches on...

Where are Grand View and Morningside located? These teams are a mystery to me.
Morningside is in sioux city Iowa
Grandview is in Des Moines iowa

No. It stands alone. I think that is right. It is a bit confusing.
Correct, NAIA is completely separate from the NCAA. It’s generally for very small schools.
NAIA is comparable to NCAA div 2 maybe a little smaller as D2 has 36 scholarships NAIA have 24 per team .

@@jonathanhouser8194 I’d say it’s about half way between with the best teams being closer to D2 and the worst being near D3
