    Hi, nice one. Air 2S here and I do about the same. Would like add a little tip, get a neck lanyard for the controller. While your using a pro controller and the launch menu is easier to reach while holding the controller, not so with a phone mounted on top. Here is where the neck lanyard comes into play. It gives you a 'third hand' no worries of the controller slipping out of your hand. Once you have one, you'll never leave home without it.

    Awesome video as always Aldryn...I never thought about wind direction when launching my MM1. Now that I've upgraded to the M3 a few days ago, I'll keep that in mind. I've also tried hand catching the way I do the MM1, just put my hand underneath and hold down on the Right Stick (I use controller layout 3). It wouldn't land at all....maybe I didn't have my hand at the 2 lower Obstacle Avoidance sensor but more toward the Vision Position sensors...so the way I was hand catching was flipping the RC into Sport to disable the Obstacle Avoidance (only so in an area away from anything).

      @Winter Summer Media boats bob up and down, which plays merry hell with downward sensors. It's both very difficult and very unsafe to land on boats whilst downward vision sensors turned on. Wish DJI would address this.

    • @cwaddell171

      Unfortunately I found that out the hard way - it was my fault though. I was starting up the motors to take off from the road, but heard a car coming so decided to grab it (not thinking the propellors would speed up). As soon as I picked it up, it thought it was taking off and sliced up my finger pretty badly. Had 3 deep slices to my finger, and when it was healing literally had a chunk missing from the tip of my finger. Thankfully didn't need stitches, but definitely did way more damage than I was expecting. I'm not really a fan of hand catching, but that put me off it even more :P

    • @lowhombre
      @lowhombre 2 роки тому

      @@cwaddell171 ouch! Did that as well in my early drone days, FPV drone was about to hit a wall and I thought I could move it by grabbing it from the top without thinking and 3 deep cuts later I learned a lesson. Lesson learned, but now all I do is hand land almost every time.

    When you have turned on obstacle avoidance (bypass) you can switch to sports mode to disable the sensors before hand catching it. ;-)

      Personally, I think switching to sport mode to turn off obstacle avoidance is a very dumb idea. If you accidentally hit a stick it will react more. I go into settings and turn off obstacle avoidance.

    I've had to take off and land on very narrow boats here in the Philippines. Takeoff is no problem. But landing I've damaged 3 props. I tried my first hand landing today, on dry land. What i did, was turned off obstacle avoidance, flew to a good height for me to grab it. Then grabbed it, and rotated it 180 degrees, so it was upside down. This took a certain amount of force, but it didn't try to fly away from me. It shut the motors off. On my next battery, it asked me to check the props for damage. But i knew they weren't. So, is there anything wrong with doing this way? I fly with a tablet and tablet holder, so operating the app with one hand is difficult.

In sports mode isnt all obstacle avoidance off? Even if I switch S off to N and back to S it still acts this way?

    I have a dumb question - What is the best frame rate if i want to speed up my video in post? DJI Mavic 3

    • @thomasmaughan4798
      @thomasmaughan4798 Рік тому +1

      Since you are going to speed it up, the slowest frame rate is ideal but keep in mind the speedup should be a simple multiple for best results; 2 3 or 4 times speedup for instance. One video I made I shot at 30 fps, but in post production I doubled the speed but I also doubled the frame rate to 60 fps. So I get a very smooth 60 fps frame rate AND it takes only half as long to get there.

    • @thomasmaughan4798
      @thomasmaughan4798 Рік тому +1

      On the other hand; if you are going for a fractional speedup say 2.5 times then you want more frames so 60 fps or even more during recording will allow post processing to slice it and dice it more precisely.

  • @jerseydronerschannel4328

    You don’t talk about sensors during take off.. My M3 will not always take off from my hand if they are on. The motors turn on but I need to throttle up to get it to go up. It definitely behaves different than M2 during hand launch.

    So annoying that we can't turn these stupid sensors off. They make the drone more dangerous to hand catch and impossible to catch when launching from boats.
    Hand catching is so much better than the drone's landing features. It is portable and meant for travel, people on boats, sand, rocks etc. need to be able to turn these stupid sensors off like we could with the Mavic 2 Pro to make hand catching easier, safer and more logically simple.

    • @howardtownsend2574
      @howardtownsend2574 2 роки тому

      If that's the case, wouldnt it be better to be perpendicular or 90 degrees to the wind. The wind push and correcting of the drone would move it to your left or right instead of towards and away from you.

    • @2Bluzin
      @2Bluzin 2 роки тому

      @@howardtownsend2574 I agree, but 99% of most of the pro drone pilots on UA-cam who have more experience than this guy say have it pointing away from you.
