🙏🏻 O Lord Jesus Christ, set the hearts of all your priests on fire with zealous love for You, that they may ever seek Your Glory; give them strength that they may labor unceasingly in Your earthly vineyard for the glory of Your All-Honorable and Majestic name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen. 🙏🏻
Can I just say that these interviews are wonderful, and also refreshing from a Christian perspective. I'd never seen Orthodoxy till I found your channel and I can't stop listening. Praise be to God
We had a nice young man come to our church. His sister was a parishoner. The back story was very interesting. He was an avid Evangelical. He told me his reason for coming to the church was to find his long estranged sister and “save” her from all the heresy. Over time, he converted! A year or so later, we were on a church tour of Greece. I was sitting with the young man having a pleasant conversation while we were riding on a Greek Ferry. For some reason, I blurted out, “Have you ever considered becoming a priest?” The conversation ended abruptly and he stormed off. Today, he is an Archpriest! I attended his ordination to Deacon and his priestly ordination. This incident in Greece occurred about 15 years ago.
Pray that God brings His people Eastern and Oriental Orthodox into communion for the betterment of the world. There is more that unites than separates, especially after the 1990 agreements’ progress toward unity ✝️🙏

Haha yeah, I realized as someone who has a clerical calling especially priesthood I didn't want to at all. I constantly refused and argued to God but God gets his will no matter what. So I soon realized I should submit to his will and now I'm really praying for more discernment and looking forward to seminary.
Remember peeps if you want to be a married priest, your wife doesn’t have to sign off on it. You can’t just tell her that’s what we’re gonna do. If she doesn’t agree to it you can’t apply. Yes you have to apply to be a priest after you do all your education and such.
Absolutely. Though in prayer we love having others to be with us since we're a communal creature. Regarding forgiveness, though the Lord alone can forgive, we come to the priest as a guide and witness. Priests help us fight our sins through direct instruction and someone we can trust.
I like this kid but i prefer my Priests to be guys who got thrown out of the Anglican church for refusing to cave to the rainbow coalition and ex military Chaplains working through their PTSD as they serve every single service in holy week by themselves.
@@MatthewFloorthere are the Oriental Orthodox who have a miaphysite christology. Then there are the Eastern Orthodox who have a dyophysite christology. They are separate but close communions.
I’m a former Protestant, now Eastern Orthodox Christian ☦️🙌 Glory to God!

Indeed, He is Risen!
The Church asked me to be a Deacon, so I became a Deacon. I am hoping they DON'T ask me to be a Priest (lol), but I will obey the will of the Church.

I was given the same book and it scared me straight, and after many years, the Lord called me and blessed me to be a Priest.
I'd love to see more videos on this topic with priests that you interview.
@6:23 So cool to see that father was ordained a deacon at St. Anthony's in San Diego! Glory to God for ALL things!
Father you’re awesome! I feel like you skateboard to church and have a youthful and joyous demeanor, thus making you loved but the whole congregation.
We love and thank God for our Priest, Fr. John Mahfouz!
God bless you and you and orthodoxy ❤

Just bought the book - I don't like spending money, but this purchase I didn't regret.

It's scary how your story sounds like me right now and I still don't want to be a priest

@@orthodoxsaulo I'm being told to go to college I want to go to seminary I'd be fine with just being a reader forever but the full priest is scary

Today I saw a brief gold halo on my priest. I wanted to let him know, but I was afraid.
Is that icon in the thumbnail an orthodox icon? i saw it on etsy and i wanna make sure it’s not heterodox
It’s canonically Orthodox
He attended three seminaries and never learned how to think.

Is that the one who spoke ill about the Coptic church ? So full of himself.Nah I am not listening to him he needs to grow up . He talks a lot .
I thought the Orthodox Church didn’t have different denominations
