Most of the songs I've been using are by Georgian folk Quintet Urmuli.
UA-cam says its okay to use, they allow it so hopefully no issues will come of it.

Do to some unfortunate life events and difficult project choice I got delayed for weeks on end so I decided to pause the project until can work on it with a fresh mind.

it totally depends on your skill and budget.
thicker the better for realistic armor, but working with thicker leather becomes harder.
so I'd recommend getting the thickness you can work with with the tools that are available to you
