RADIUM SPRINGS UNCOVERED - South Georgia's Radioactive Natural Wonder w/ Healing Benefits?

  • Radium Springs is a freshwater spring in the town of Albany, situated along the Flint River. Though it is located in southwest Georgia, its fluorescent water actually originates from what is known as the Florida Aquifer (boasting the highest concentration of freshwater springs in the world). What makes Radium Springs so special, as you can probably infer from its name and bluish glow, is the natural presence of Radium in its waters. Believe it or not, people use to swim in these radioactive waters by the thousands. In fact, many proclaimed the spring to have healing properties both long before and well after the Radium was detected. Though swimming is not allowed today, its prohibition is not for the reasons you might think. In this video we will detail the history and mystery surrounding Radium Springs in addition to challenging some of the hysteria which surrounds Radium and radioactivity in general. Join us for a trip and perhaps a little splash in one of America’s most unique bodies of water. And you never know, we may see a giant radioactive catfish or 2. The views expressed in this video do not necessarily reflect my own, now enjoy.

I actually live in Albany(pronounced ALL-bany). And used to swim in Radium Springs when I was younger. There's no harm being done to the people or environment of the area.
Sadly the public is no longer permitted to swim in the actual spring, bc of the danger of debris being deposited by the famous "Flood of '94" whic was deemed the flood of the century. It devastated the city and surrounding areas and its impact is still felt today. I remember it like it was yesterday, as i was young at the time, i remember having to evacuate my home at 2am due to the waters rising rapidly. We lived on the Kinchafoonee Creek which is one of the water ways in the area. Our house took on 9 feet of water. It was wild. Anyways, enjoyed the video.
Btw. You're confusing radioactive decay with electromagnetic radiation. Just because you see the word radiation, doesn't mean it has a negative connotation.

Let’s use some common sense. 70000 gallons per day are coming from somewhere and that source is not just going to Radium springs, it’s going through out the Florida aquifer and I have swam and drank out of the aquifer’s for 53 years and no cancer.

What's the name of the spot north of Albany that everyone went to? It was a water park but dried up now. If you are from Albany, Slappey Blvd was the place to be. ❤Radium has half lives. . ..this means the exposure if drink, tablet, ?bomb drop in japan? Or swim in or as the ladies years ago..? This means it does not stay in your body.
The long, exposure too much exposure all at once and/or continuous exposure over time will erode your system from inside out.
This does not mean radium is not a viable use to eradicate bad cells example cancer or what is being treated.
I know of some patients that have lived decades from radium treatments.
Personally, i am allergic to radium and know when i am exposed, not every one has/have personal indicators to let them know.
Therefore more studies, health practioners would help patients to listen to learn,
After a treatment a healthy diet, fluids will help the half lives accelerate(leave) to cleanse tissue and muscles of the radioactive radium.
I believe raduim studied more has a chance to improve many persons health.
It just is not for me. ❤

It was originally placed in 1994 Bc of the 1994 flood, called the flood of the century, aka "Flood of '94" which is the reason the place was closed due to the insane amount of debris deposited into the spring. It's been cleaned out since and they decided to not reopen it. The spring empties out into the Flint River. I go kayaking there every summer, it's a beautiful area.

@@josephstocks7495 That’s cool and all, but I think you flew right past my point. Haha. The sign should be affixed to a post in the ground, that should have been obvious to the person who placed it on a tree that will grow in height. Over time, this will give a false impression of how high the waterline was during the flood.
