If it bothered you that much, you should have sold your tickets to someone else who actually wanted to go and see her. It’s quite ridiculous. Re: Calvinism - I just can’t wrap my ahead around God simply picking and choosing like that. It doesn’t seem to fit His character of spreading the Gospel message to all - that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again! And we can ALL accept His free gift of salvation! Calvinism seems contradictory to that, like the foundational Truths in the Bible, salvation has always been for everyone, just look at Jesus’ life to see that!

Also, if Christ died for everyone then there are people in hell with their sins forgiven. Impossible. Furthermore, if Christ died for all and only made salvation possible, then he actually did not accomplish salvation on the cross. There would be a chance no one would be saved. But in reality Christ accomplished His purpose to save His people from their sins. “All the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never cast them out” John 6:37
If you don't want to be associated with Taylors fan base, maybe don't keep going to her concerts or talking on social media about how much you love her.

I truly do not believe it is fair to doubt whether or not someone is a Christian. “There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?” (James 4:12).
Why does it sound like you are gaslighting yourself? I wish you could just see that God loves you for who you are. Live how you want to live, do what you want to do, and don't feel shameful for those things- he wants you to be happy.

You mentioned if you didn’t listen to her music then you’d have to not listen to so many others. I think the line I draw between Taylor’s music and others is what their intentions are. I’m still fuzzy on Taylor’s intentions in her career but there’s been more and more overtly demonic things in her music and concerts. That to me is where I’d stop listening to her. For other non Christian artists, if they aren’t doing things that seem to press the enemies agenda, then I am more likely ok with them. It’s a bummer about Taylor cause I also like her music, but it seems she is openly mocking Christian’s and God in some of her content. That’s where it’s a no for me. I think in general and with the power of social media in general everyone is trying to keep up with the jones. The latest cell phones, and trends. Spending money like it’s going out of style. My sister invited me to go see her tour next year otherwise I wouldn’t of gone and she paid for a chunk of it for my birthday otherwise I would of happily sat at home .
Talking about how this life can’t compare to the joy that’s coming right after watching this I heard the song “sweet ever after” by Ellie Holcomb saying “gotta lot of bad days still coming my way but it’s sweet ever after” basically we can accept the hard time knowing they will come because we know its all worth it in the end. Be encouraged brothers and sister this is only the beginning of our eternity!
Jaclyn! Look into the LCMS Lutheran Doctrine when it comes to predestination! It seems to me that Calvinists are trying to rationalize God’s mysterious ways. Lutherans believe that God desires all the be saved but that also some are not saved. That is just a mystery of God and we can not rationalize that fact with what the Bible reveals to us. Thankfully God doesn’t ask us to rationalize it, just preach the gospel to everyone and He will take care of the rest!

Girl, I do the praying/thanking God for a parking spot thing! It’s so crazy seeing God show up in the small moments, and knowing he will show up in the big ones as well! Also, totally understand wrestling through Calvinism/Reformed theology! I lean Calvinist but there’s still things that I don’t understand, of course!
My huge question to you is how do you partake in Halloween when God died for us on the cross, to get us away from evil and the dark. I know you said you don’t dress up in dark costumes but you still partake in it. Why would you still want to have any association with anything dark/sinful when Jesus had done everything for us to not end up on that side? You are a very biblical women and I sense a strong faith from you, I hope you are able to figure the whole Halloween thing out. Think of it like this, if an unbeliever saw you dressed up, they would say “She celebrates Halloween”, we should be set apart from the world. It’s hard to keep trusting “followers of Christ” when they celebrate or partake in things of evil even if you don’t dress up or decorate anything sinister/dark.
So your testimony doesn’t include salvation? Without salvation there is no hope. I encourage you to pray over that and read about it in the Bible. It’s more than a decision to follow Christ. ❤
