  • Ever since I was a kid I wanted to make an electric GoKart. Now that I have a kid, it was time to do this :) So I found a Kettcar pedal powered one online, like the one that I used to have as a kid and gave it some tiny horsepower using a battery driven screw gun. Hope you like it!

    *Great lightweight screwdriver **MyBest.Tools** and the light definitely came in handy when securing our ceiling diffuser. Battery was still charged for over a month.*

    I made one of these for my son in 2008. But I forgot to add a brake so, when I turned on the drill and waved goodbye, it was for good. Talk about regrets.

    Very nice, bravo. Can you tel me what is that wheel what's in the drill, that pushes to the cart wheel. Is it sone kind of grinding tool?

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  7 місяців тому

      Thank you, the wheel is called a wire wheel. You have them in metal, brass . Usually you use these to scrape paint off.

    Hey great video. Gave me motivation to build my own. Where can I buy what you attached to your drill?

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  3 роки тому

      thanks! The thing is called a wire brush, they can be found at most hardware stores. They are usually sold in a pack, so you have a thin one, wide one etc,, and most of the time one of these things is in there :)
      Good luck with the build!

    I want to try this but im 200lbs os there another device i can use the same method with ?

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  3 роки тому +1

      Yes there is, you have similar looking karts for grown ups. Then the friction method does not work anymore ( believe me, 200lbs as well and the kart failed on me ). So then you’d have to devise some form of sprocket and chain where the screwgun/battery drives that gearbox. You can google some more on this concept because I’ve seen a channel that made exactly that, I just forgot the name.

      Yes you can, the 18V will have a bit more torque and power, but overall it will work just as well. Go for it Kasinadh!

    I might do what you did but instead put the drill in the middle at the front facing back so you can reach it better have variable speeds and have the drill attached too a long price of bar and weld a few gears into place too maximize torque from it and make it easier on the drill with less ware on the tires

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  3 роки тому +1

      Good plan. My next iteration will get gears and a chain as well. But this video was in my pre-welding days :) let me know how it went please, always interested in other people making similar stuff!

    Sir, can you please suggest is this driver pulley a wire grinder? I mean what drives the rear wheel

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  4 роки тому

      Abhijit Das , it is a basic 18volt battery driver drill/screwdriver. Cost me 50 euros and can be found is almost any do-it-yourself store

    • @ProjectsandThings
      @ProjectsandThings  4 роки тому

      Sorry, that bit is a round wire brush, so yes, a wire grinder, you are correct sir!
