- Hey darlings. Today I am starting a brand new series and I am seriously SO excited for it. I'm going to be going through my entire makeup collection, drawer by drawer, and deciding what I want to keep and what I want to get rid of. This first part is foundations and concealers, but there will be many more parts to this series if you guys like it! Make sure to give this video a thumbs up if you want to see more!

The Dr. Jart BB's are fine. It would be a waste to throw those away. They aren't exposed to much air since it's in tube form, they aren't in clear bottles, and not to mention....companies tell you most things "expire" long before they do so they can make more money off of you.
True also I guess to make sure they don't get sued from people using expired products
+Kay M They also do that to avoid freak situations, so if for any reason it DOES expire before it should, it's only guaranteed for 2 years. Kind of like having a 1 year warrantee on a product. It will last at least that long if it's fine.

This video is full of pretty detailed reviews on sooo many products. 46 minutes is really not that long given how many reviews we just got. Thanks for your hard work elle!! Not usually a big fan but loving your decluttering videos!!

Spending $70 on a Cle de Peau concealer that you know you love and works for your skin is a lot smarter than spending hundreds of dollars on other concealers to try once and then throw away.

Yup, only reason I can justify buying it over and over. It just works. And it actually lasts a really long time since it's so concentrated so you don't have to replace it as often as cheaper concealers.
Yes, but she tries all of these brands for her viewers. They want to know what she thinks about every brand, high end and drugstore, and every type of product. Unfortunately this is her job and she will waste some things because they didn't work for her and because of that many, many people are thankful to her because they didn't waste their money.

This is actually why I don't do an "everyday makeup bag" anymore. I ended up not using the products that I owned and kept using the same exact things every day while I had 6 or 7 unused foundations sitting and expiring away in the drawers :P Now, while I'm in the shower in the morning I think of what I'm looking to wear and what palettes I think I want to use or if I really want to get use out of a specific item, I just leave it out on its own. I don't think that you have too much makeup that it distracts you from what you need to get done, especially since it is so organized :)
+Kati Nicole that is SUCH a good idea and I have truly never thought about it that way. Since I get ready in a different room than where I store my makeup I always thought I needed a bag out there, but you are right - I forget about other stuff!
***** getting ready in a different room might make that a bit more difficult, but would it be hard to do your makeup in the room with the extra product? :) I also hate the sponge tip applicators too, btw so you're definitely not alone lol

+Kati Nicole I agree with this. I don't have 7 unused foundations but definitely unused eyshadows haha. What I kinda do is "a look of the week" thing...On Monday I choose what eyelook I wear and will probably wear and perfect it for the week. After a week, I'm kinda sick of it and a new look and with that a new palette takes place :) (currently fell back in love with the Naked3!) :)

and IT WAS 46MINS LONG so i closed it, hurry back home, took a shower. I am now watching this with a tub of ice cream on the sofa. 😊

Elle, I love your decluttering videos! You inspired me to go through all the clothes I have (and had worn since I was 15!), and my husband's clothes. We had the Salvation Army come pick up all the donation items, and I wanted you to know that we ended up donating 155 different items in good condition to new homes! And now my de-cluttered closet and wardrobe thanks you!
I love how passionately you explain your makeup, like you actually know your stuff. A lot of gurus are like "yeah love this" etc for everything while you actually explain why so you actually know your stuff.

I loveee decluttering videos! I watch them all the time because they inspire me to go through everything I own. Every time I start to get a little overwhelmed with what I own I turn on a video and do a grand ole purge!

I work for sephora and with the makeup forever hd you have to apply it with a flat foundation brush because the foundation has amino acid coated pigments that need to be laid onto the skin/ each other. If you use a beauty blender or buffing brush it isn't going to apply correctly. Hope this helps! :)
