Thank you for this insightful discussion. I find it especially appropriate in these days, where we as a people are being tempted to judge one another according to fear regarding adherence to guidelines that are new to our generation.
Wow.. I have read and heard this story so many times .. as someone who struggles sometimes with playing judge , I never thought of the burden that this was , or the relief and mercy that Jesus showed the scribes and Pharisees by giving them a way out of their judgement of the woman . God is so good and merciful that he loves every sinner no matter the sin and beckons us to lay down that sin and sin no more . We can rationalize that being the judge is less of a sin than the sin we are judging , but in the end, it is playing God and not loving others as God commanded , so it is no less a sin . Thank you for this excellent teaching , and thanks be to God for revealing the ways in which it is applicable to me so that I can be free of my sin burden as well in this area .
I have very much enjoyed these videos. I have an inquisitive mind, I would like to know who has put this approach together where the Bible verses are shared in every day dialogue, it is very effective. It comes across very real and I’m impressed with how comfortable she (forgot her name) can memorize what she wants to share. Excellent!!!!
What if a person goes and does sin again? I often wonder how we can on one hand love Jesus and vow to serve Him even unto death yet on the other chase and fall prey to the lustful desires of this life sometimes even unto death. Grace doesn't give us license to sin. The Word says Jesus sets us free indeed. Even so, we struggle and I get caught in shame when I fail or judge others when they do. Oh to rise above it all in complete victory. We have it at our disposal yet wallow as victims and it is truly exhausting.
Amen. Thank you.
