You knew it wasn't a normal anime the moment the war hammer titan starts to transform, and, instead of allowing it to fully transform, Eren attacks it immediately.

Looking back at all the action, these episodes were prob one of the dopest and craziest in anime history.
They weren't :) AoT is my favorite show, but these episodes were really weak on a technical level. But the writing is as good as ever.

There's a lot of amazing parts in this sequence but I do really love how Reiner decides to keep fighting. Just as Eren says in the beginning, they really are the same. And in the end Reiner took the ultimate lifeform head-on, completely alone. One of the best character arcs in anime and maybe even all of media.

He just told Reiner “you and I are the same” and thought of how in vain it was to save Ramzi when he would die later anyway, and Eren already know Galliard had to go before the end. Reiner’s effort to save Galliard was another reminder to Eren that none of this matters
