I miss him, my grandparents were big fans. We used listen to his Saturday morning show on KULP and my grandpa would take turns dancing with me and my cousin through the house. Such wonderful memories. 😊

Makes you wonder where mariachi and modern corridos came from

Not really. It's pretty obvious where it comes from. The mid 1800's is when this polka and the accordion came to Texas, and the Mexicans copied it and mixed it into their various styles.

@@AV1611BibleBelievingJimmy I wouldn't use the word "copied" ,we did take these european forms but we made them very distinctly mexican and unique. We transformed polka

@@vrai3078 It's distinct, yes. And the lack of the use of the bass buttons is characteristic of popular Mexican accordion styles. And of course in the Mexican polkas and styles that incorporate polka influences, they have Bajo Sexto and the like and have a particular Mexican influence to them. But at the same time I heard plenty of old Mexican recordings that are simply polka music, nothing really added or taken away. It really just depends on the reigion and time period. But usually the music is definitely different. You also got the chicken scratch stuff from certain Indian tribes and all that. Polka music is incredibly important, all of the anti culture and anti western media brainwashing really drove all of those beautiful styles out of memory. Old time music, country, folk, bluegrass, polkas, etc are all important American heritage, and it's all been taken away from white Americans. At least mexico could keep actual culture and some good music.

@@AV1611BibleBelievingJimmybut someone that is not familiar with the style will not even notice the difference of sound between a traditional European polka and a Corrido.

Please add more songs by Bobby Jones from this video. I have the VHS tape but can no longer play it. My old video player eats up the tapes.
