Beautiful rendition. My take is that Reed was saying that having nothing may suck but it can also be sweet. We may think those characters are losers or we may regard them with sympathy. But not so fast. They are playing by their own rules and are not confined by "The System" or "The Man." In that sense, they may be freer than we are -- and happier too. That's my take anyhow. Wish Lou Reed were here and could address it.
Sounds very much like the Grateful Dead, or what remains if them, making another comeback. It also sounds a little like the Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See". The group is actually Phish. In this song, Sweet Nuthin', they sound very similar to the Grateful Dead, in both vocals and instrumentation. Phish-heads are this generation's Dead-heads...
Did the Grateful Dead ever cover this song? If they didn't, well they should have! This would be perfect for Jerry, vocals and guitar. No worries though, I'm sure in a parellel universe somewhere this is happening. Quantum physics guarantees it!
I had no idea that they covered this. ❤. I love it. Tears welling up. ❤
browsed thru about 3 pages for covers for this song, this is the best one 😆
This is lovely.
You have to love Sweet Nothin, my favorite Phish rendition
So nice, Velvet Paige😉
Rest in Peace Mr Lou Reed
This is cool... check out the Black Crowes cover of this song for a sublime version!
Paige sings so well, i would love to hear him sing Coney Island Baby
So damn good🔥
