tips on powerchords : the first finger is used to mute every string that is not involved in your powerchord by touching them (without pressing them !), in exemple when playing the second chord in this song (Bb5), your first finger touches the low E string and the B and high E string, so that whatever string you hit when you play the chord (because you can't really aim when you play this kind of riffs !), you won't hear any unwanted string, only your powerchord !

So many people get this wrong, but there are 4 notes played, not power chords (which consists of only playing the root + 5th + tonic an octave higher, that last one optional) at all. It's *Fsus4* (3rd fret on 3rd string (starting from the bottom) included), *A#* (including that 2nd string, again, starting from the bottom), *G****#sus4* (same shape as 1st), then *C#* (again, including 2nd string). So that would translate to: 1-3-3-3-x-x, x-1-3-3-3-x, 4-6-6-6-x-x, x-4-6-6-6-x.
Also, your rhythm is not entirely the way he plays it. There are those *quadriple* X's (triple some places), or muted percussive strums, and, and this is something a lot of people don't bother, some 0's (empty strings) here and there. Those might sound negligable but the riff only lasts 4 seconds and a half (if you exclude it's simile repeat), and if you wanna nail 4 seconds into something as recognizable as that huge cult riff, you might as well go the extra mile and add those sparks

@TheRealSonicYouth im not saying that nirvana was first grunge band - that's obvious that there were many seatlle bands before them, that were later associated with grunge genre. i mean that they gave birth to grunge by naming it. if not nirvana, no one would know what grunge means, it would be just seattle punk or something like that for thsoe who would be interested.
Kurt and Osourne were good friends actually and played together a lot before grunge-nirvana era.
