My favorite rider, hands down.
My kids call him "Danny Mac" and often ask for his videos. (They're young) We watch and pretend we can do those tricks, 'judging' Danny's tricks and their difficulty level 👍
One thing I'd like to mention, and it's too late, but one of the opening shots shows a nuclear power plant. There are two cooling towers, and it looks like 'smoke' or 'smog' is coming out of them.
Just so everyone knows, that is simply steam. Nuclear power plants use water to spin the turbines (water is heated by the nuclear fuel, turns to steam, and spins the turbines.)
I don't think most video producers know that; it's easy to get stock footage of a nuclear power plant with steam around it, put it in a video and make people think how bad it is for the environment.
There are new ways of handling spent nuclear fuel, some of which reuse it for good things (NOT depleted uranium for weapons!) instead of burying it for ten thousand years.
It's not in-vogue, and it's not 'cool' to like nuclear power, but it IS clean. If only the industry cared about spent fuel rods 40 years ago, as they do now, it wouldn't have such a bad reputation. 🙄🤔
Sorry for the rant. I've always been a Danny Mac fan and anyone trying to do good for the environment is OK in my book!
Even if you volunteer to pick up litter around your neighborhood, that's a start. Or help clean a local stream or creek.
If everyone stopped littering, and if we stopped letting big corporations get away with mass pollution, the environment would be so much better.
If we kept our bikes for a few more years instead of buying a new bike all the time (sorry Santa Cruz and other Danny sponsors!)☺️ we'd be doing the most important part: REDUCE (Rescue, Reuse, Recycle ♻️)
Everyone drools over these big solutions (wind turbines, etc.) when we've got floating islands of plastic coming from China. We've got solar panels on houses for tens of thousands of dollars (especially if you get Tesla's brand!), but some countries' air is so bad you have to wear a mask every day.
Some counties have little in the way of regulations. Factories spew waste into the air, land and water, without consequence.
In the United States and some other countries, industrial pollution is relatively small compared to decades past and composition the population and GDP.
I'd love all of this effort for Clean Energy and Climate Change to be directed at the big corporations who are spewing toxic waste into our environment!
I guess it's not sexy or cool enough to do that. No one wants to watch Danny ride through smog and bunny hop over toxic sludge. But riding on a turbine blade definitely is cool. 😎
Sometimes, the answers are right in front of us, and are easier than the big, sexy solutions like electric vehicles, solar panels and wind turbines.
What if we cleaned up our planet first? What if we recycled 75% of our trash? What if some counties didn't dump millions of pounds of plastic into the ocean? Can we all do that for a decade, and revisit everything? Once we've ended basic pollution, then we can tackle wind turbines and Climate Change!
Get up right now and look in your trash can. Look in a local dumpster, local trash center and local landfill.
We waste SO MUCH STUFF and we keep doing it, but we feel better about ourselves because we have solar panels on our roof. 🙄
We pay taxes to our governments to install wind turbines, but the politicians are in the board of directors for companies that make toxic chemicals and don't dispose of the waste. Let's hold THEM accountable!
    Peace and love.
    (And sorry for the rant!)

I am suggesting that we stop amplifying the voices of climate alarmists who have been saying the worlds guna end because of human-cause climate change for 50 years. Their deadlines have come and gone many times over. I believe there is a misconception about this climate change
    I'm all for renewables
    but here's a small history lesson !
since the industrial age, country's started to pollute the most, it's been rising ever since
those people in power back then got rich because of it
now since there is more awareness about the change of climate, governments come with extra taxes to do things for the good of the climate
but this is not fair, those old people and their descendants need to fix the shit they started, once they start spearheading solutions with lots of money already backing those projects, I'll fall in line and support the climate change
fundraisers like this send a wrong message, all it says to those that started or benefited the most on mother earths pollution is, enjoy your money, we'll fix your shit !!
and I don't agree with this, those people should spearhead solutions without the normal guy getting taxed more and more to fix the problem
for all I care we can all go to hell with this planet, let people enjoy their money there !!
energy is getting more and more expensive, and these 'fundraisers' send a wrong message !!

Even fully feathered these blades usually still move. I’d love to hear how you felt up there. You must have nerves of steel if this is real. As far as climate change is concerned, I don’t agree that we are doing anything like enough if we are to stabilise things. But, cynically,I don’t think that current green policies are anything other than a sop to make people think they’re doing something when in reality they’re doing little of any efficacy. We still in UK generate 80% of our electricity by burning gas, a fossil fuel. I don’t see this changing in my life time. And electric cars are not zero emissions at all. The electricity has to be generated. I resent government treating us as imbeciles. Buying electric cars makes so little difference that I, for one, won’t be doing this until there is a provable point. And air source heating is inefficient and very expensive. And we’re being forced down this route? Hell no. At least give us options that work!!!

"Buying electric cars makes so little difference that I, for one, won’t be doing this until there is a provable point" how about when your sitting in traffic your not uselessly pumping CO2 into the air? Imagine if every car was electric, what it would be like. No fumes, no noisy engines, no smog, nothing. Think about if every house had solar panels and batteries so the grid was only there as a back up to the power you are generating yourself and you can come home at the end of the day in your electric car, park it and fill it up for free. Thats the end goal here, something like that

    • @duncanspiers8855
      @duncanspiers8855 2 роки тому +1

@@troywilliams844 "No fumes, no noisy engines, no smog, nothing." except that that is absolutely false. Electric cars need to be charged and this is done using (at least for 80% of our electricity) by burning gas. So there are fumes and smog. Certainly not nothing. We are being sold a pup. Electric car batteries cause serious environmental pollution. The batteries almost double the weight of the cars meaning you need much more power to move them. If you look at the figures, for both environmental impact and cost, electric cars are rarely anything more than marginal in their benefits. And try towing a caravan with an electric car. You may get more than 80 miles from your batteries if you are lucky. And the batteries have a life or only around 5 years and then you've got to make new ones. You can't easily recycle them either. This just doesn't make sense as a solution.
