Hollywood Jeff Hammond says it's critical for Richard Childress Racing to get back on track after the two-week Olympic break. It's been the season from hell for Kyle Busch, as the two-time champion has struggled to keep pace on the lead lap most of the year. Hammond says this was a huge surprise after the strong showing Busch had in his first season with RCR in 2023. Things are even worse for Austin Dillon, who's 32nd in the points standings after 22 races.
Alan Cavanna agrees. Kyle Busch has proven he has the talent but says the results for RCR to this point are simply "unacceptable."
Doug Rice says the issue could actually be bigger than that. Outside of Hendrick Motorsports, it's been a frustrating 2024 season for the Chevrolet camp. Outside of Daniel Suarez stealing a win at Atlanta to start the year, the other Chevrolet teams have been MIA in victory lane. What can Chevy do to right the ship in the playoffs or will they simply have to ride out mediocre results until the 2025 Daytona 500?

RCR isn’t a good race team period. Nothing to do with the drivers.
There has been a lot of struggles across the board! Manufacturers, drivers and teams alike!

Do agree with youall and to Doug Rice after you retire we will miss you calling the races and saying this in respect to the Motor Racing Network when Doug RIce and Mark Garrow call the races on The Performance Racing Network there is something really down home about their analysis they give us as well as the other PRN team members and the analysis they give us also so To Doug Rice thanks for all the Great race calls you gave us all of these years we will miss you buddy but do understand it come s a time when you have to retire and as far as Dougs successor i know its up to PRN but either Pat Patterson or Brent McMillan could fill Dougs shoes but it may be hard to replace Dougs legecy and may it be a safe rest of the season for all of the drivers and best wishes to them and best wishes to PRN and MRN as well take care.

That's what happens when you try to do more than the car your team gave you is capable of.
Kyle Busch doesn't seem to be able to hang on to a loose race car like he has in the past, it's what made him famous. It happens, we've seen it with Jimmie Johnson.

Dillon is no surprise to anyone. He needs another team or retirement.

This is why nascar is about money.for instance,if Jeff gordon,Jimmy Johnson, or anyone with hall of fame status would be with a team that wasn't competitive like RCR they wouldn't of been so successful
Sure you can't blame Kyle Busch entirely but at the same time he's not exactly to be excused either for the team's trouble. Childress and Chevrolet as a whole in Cup are most to blame to Kyle's struggles. Same with Ford yes they won but other then Brad Keselowski at Darlington Penske has been the only wins for them in Cup at least in Xfinity and Trucks less full time Ford teams compared to Toyota and Chevrolet Ford finally got a win in all 3 series following Indy with the Truck Series. Toyota other then Legacy in Cup are arguably the best manufacturer in NASCAR (especially with Trucks and Cup) this season. Chevrolet being the best manufacturer in the Xfinity Series. Yet other then Hendrick they're the worst manufacturer in Cup this year. Ford gets the spot in Trucks and Xfinity be default in that (Xfinity) series.
