I've taken courses by John Worthington where he utilized John C. Lily's work along with his own. I've adjusted my own programming through those courses. "A program becomes a rule of your life until recognized and changed" - that's completely true. The book Worthington wrote is really amazing - I would highly recommend if you are interested in this work check out John Worthington's book: The Office of Shaman - A Hermeneutic rationale for inclusion of the soul concept in genesis of human thought.

He used it himself whilst in float tanks, or in altered states, to help transcend beliefs he felt were limiting to his higher goals. I thought it was cool when I first read about it and thought it would be fun to make my own version I could use myself :)
