Just want to say, the ocucor was never as bad as anyone said. You needed to throw the synth mods on your build, but it made for a great weapon to combine with melee gameplay as well. Get it charge up on the first mag, melee for 4-5 seconds, then continue firing with a full ammo capacity without resetting your beams. In fact, you should still run some synth mods so you can keep it going against tough enemies who don't die frequently enough to keep you topped up. But even before this ridiculous mod came out, the thing churned through lower level sp like only the best explosive weapons could. You shred literally everything on your screen, and apply an absolute shit load of status to anything that doesn't die instantly. And now, even in netracells, you barely have to aim, because anything but the toughest enemies will get shredded by just the tendrils. It's one of the absolute best pistols in the game, and the fact that most people think the kuva nukor is better than it tells you that most people in this game don't actually try stuff out for themselves, and just let other people give them their opinions.
Yeah my main reason for not trying it until recently was the price of sentient surge and I was always told it was needed for the gun, I don't think ss is needed at lower levels but it def helps alot for steel path and higher level enemies in general imo
@@KivotaSZN Oh ya, with sentient surge I'd argue that it can handle pretty much anything in the game unless you are specifically aiming at level cap, at which point it doesn't have the ammo efficiency to keep its tendrils up. But without it it was still quite good in any short sp missions. Survival past 15-20 minutes was a bit rough, but still doable. I just love the gun, I really enjoy beam weapons in warframe, and as cool as the Nukor and Cycron are, the Ocucor has always been my favorite.
@@KivotaSZN Yes,i run it with this mod,you can buy rn,so you always have beams. With 75%ammo saving ability you lose ammot too fast,but with this its basically x4ammo in your mag.
@@KivotaSZN Anything below steel apth dies from jsut looking at it,at steelpath you gotta kill 1st target and maybe a few more,to get dmg arcane going,(or jsut use +dmg for pistols on headshot) for mdg to start almost one shot too. Also why its so good in gauss,cuz this 75%ammo saving ability has base dura of 5 secs,and on gauss you want basically only dura,cuz his 4 scales of dura
I'm not sure, I never really got alot of red crits with it other than when I use it with tenacious bond and secondary outburst, even then its not consistent, maybe orange shards on your frame with heat on the ocucor would work?
That's alot better than what they were going for before the Halloween event, but if you get a chance pick some up and save them for reselling after the Halloween event ends, you'll make the plat back + more forsure

That's an unfortunate one, at least the gun still performs super well without it, I'm still looking for a well rolled riven for it myself

Was this nerfed?, I remember getting red crits like crazy with my occucor, and now I'm getting some oranges from time to time.
I'm not sure, I never really got alot of red crits with it other than when I use it with tenacious bond and secondary outburst, even then its not consistent, maybe orange shards on your frame with heat on the ocucor would work?
