My favorite section--the Roan Highlands! And then Little Hump and Big Hump. Yay for trail maintainers--near and dear to my heart as my husband is also one in GA. Wow--Rock Lizard is amazing, love seeing the young ones out there getting a love for the trail and for hiking. And yay for husbands who do video editing--thanks Eddie. You do an amazing job! Cheers!

Inspired by other vloggers last year, I visited all the Tennessee state parks in 2022. I saved the 5 parks in NE Tenn for December, including Roan Mtn State park which is 8 miles from Carver’s Gap. So on that day, I drove up to Carvers. Did the short hike up to Round Bald, then back down and across the road onto the AT to go up to Roan Mtn shelter just to see the high point from there. It was like the 17th of Dec and 38 deg, but I was determined to h8me where I had seen several 2022 hikers go thru. The trail up was iced over in many spots and rocky. When I saw the sign for the shelter, the trail up to it was completely iced. I opted to stay on main trail and hiked on to Toll House Gap. I wish now I had gone just a bit farther to see Cloudland site. I bailed on hiking on the trail back down because of ice and I was solo..so I road walked back to Carvers Gap as the afternoon was waning. Bit it’s so great to see this years hikers go thru the small piece I hiked. Gives me hope I can do more one day.

Wow...blown out of my socks with respect for Rock Lizard. Props to her dad also, AND the "invisible" support they have back home, just as Renee has Eddie

Following many hikers, and sometimes it’s the little things.
On your channel it’s Eddie’s editing and your term, “cheers” even in the moments you are not always feeling it. Reminds me of the days teachers across America are digging deep some days - thank you.

It was hard but you did it!
Awww. Rock Lizard. Her dad created a hiker. She must be home schooled if she finished that fast. Good for her!
You got it Renee. Sometimes we take detours.

Comical note:. The AI generated closed captions show your footsteps as "Applause",. So even Big Brother is cheering you on!.... And the wind in your panning vistas shows "Thank you", so BB even appreciated them! Go, go C to T!

I played slip and slide on Roan Mtn going down in mud. It had warmed up just enough to create a couple inches of mud over ice. I looked like a chocolate covered Easter egg when I finished that day! We caught the sunrise there and it was incredible. You are doing great!

All of you are so amazing and do such a fantastic job sharing your hike! Thanks to Eddie too for doing a great job on your videos! Great team effort!

Roan Mountains from Carver's Gap to 19E is a great section! That was my first section hike a couple of years ago. Last year, I did trail magic at Hughes Gap and then did another section hike from Walnut Mountain Road to 19E.

Thank you Renee and Eddie-I enjoy these so much. My husband and I are day hiking in and out the AT in MD. We have 5 miles left. We did 12 mi round trip yesterday and I kept thinking of you with a pack. I only use a waist pack and I can't imagine the strength you must have to hike with a loaded pack. I am excited for you to get to MD. I would like to be a resource for you here. We are a little more than an hour from trail but would love to meet you perhaps. You are both so kind. Happy Easter!

It's a steep climb up to the shelter. It wasn't an obvious sign. As I recall the shelter is in the trees and there is no view.

And without Renée actually hiking the trail and recording it there is no Couch to Trail either. We go hand in hand.
