Hello; if I may I want to ask you about a supposed "order" I mean; in the beginning you start with the Heian kata and tekki shodan to see and practice the fundaments (do not know why kanku dai is not the next kata...) then following with Bassai dai; Jion; Kanku dai and Enpi. At this point many are at least 5th kyu but normally 2 kyu. What would be the next kata? Gankaku or Nijushiho could be? I understand that depends on the dojo etc. Thanks
TheReverb1 Good day, the videos I make are in no particular order. I teach many students and the videos are for my students and interested Karateka to use as reference. However, if there is a particular Kata you would like me to cover then I will happily do so. Kind regards, Bernard
@@BernardBuysKarate Thank you; may be I am expressed the question in a not so right way. I tried to ask when a given student of certain degree (normally between 5 and 1 kyu) with the basic kata and the basic advanced kata (Bassai dai, Jion, Kanku dai and Enpi) what would be what JKA advices to be the next? Gankaku or Nijushiho or other?. Makes no sense teach (and I do not see that in the dojos) Unsu after the basic kata... Or there is no any restriction from the JKA of what kata would be next? Hope this time the answer be clear.
TheReverb1 I understand. Usually, although not a definitive order but a suggested order as follows: Heian 1-5, Tekki 1, Bassai Dai, *Jion, Kanku Dai, Empi, Hangetsu, Tekki 2, Jitte, Tekki 3, Gankaku, Bassai Sho, Kanku Sho, Chinte, Unsu, Sochin, Nijushiho, Gojushiho Sho, Gojushiho Dai, Meikyo, Wankan. *I believe it was recently suggested by JKA HQ to slot Jion in after Jitte but not sure if it has been confirmed.

Good day Sensei...please correct the right spelling of the Japanese words..koku dachi and not Coco...oss
...in that way would be kokutsu dachi...also you need to correct "oss"; the right way to write it is "osu"
