Yes. Your post match interviews should be examples used as training material. The swagger, calmness while being assertive you demonstrated and continue to demonstrate is what I try to work on. It's applicable to everyday life not just tennis. How you never lashed out at some of the offensive line of questions is admirable. You are a pro at shutting down rude questions - eloquent and to the point.

@@VenusWilliams you are most welcome. To fellow fans reading this, look up the press conference 2009 us open williams sister doubles post match. Reporters kept pestering Serena with the same questions over and over again that she had already answered. Venus started to answer and the reporter cut her off and without missing a beat Venus asked "are you getting aggressive with me?" Brilliant smack down and so effective. She really made the dude check/watch himself because he was speechless. In that moment of awkward silence Venus handled and responded brilliantly putting it to rest while shielding little sis from the annoying reporters dumb questions.
Asking someone to confirm if they are getting aggressive...dude couldnt answer that because you helped him realise that yes he was being aggressive!
A woman of Integrity we can all learn from.

So right. Make it immediately clear about our essential and ineludible values at the first or second date with a person. It will save both of you a lot of time and energy.
I would love to learn more by seeing a video on working with toxic people in your life to make it work and go in a positive direction without being too abrasive and at the same time not being controlled or taken advantage of.

Unfortunately we all have to face toxicity in our lives whether its directly aimed at us or indirectly aimed at something or someone we support. I just do my best to not let it get to me, but yes it can be very tough to deal with. I concentrate on the good things i do and on my friends that believe in the same things. I feel that if you let toxic people steal your joy, you cannot feel the happiness in the things that makes you smile. Its hard not to take things personally, but i do what i can to move forward and keep my happiness level up. I love you Queen V! 😍

Hi, Venus, I was watching your videos on going back to your hometown and came across this video. I have looked for videos that would help me in dealing with a very toxic relationship with my sister. I enjoyed this video because it touched on so many things that I was going through trying to keep my relationship with my sister. Unfortunately I had to stop talking to her after over two decades of toxicity. When i eliminated her from a part of my daily life, I was able to achieve higher levels in my business and I felt a huge burden lifted. I am still estranged from my sister and hopefully in part 2 of your " How to Deal With Toxicity Video " I will take away some tips that will help me to deal with the relationship between my sister and I!

Love this. Since Hollywood is shut down I’ve gone back to school to start a career in therapy. I’ve started referring to toxicity as “dysfunction” and defining it as “working against yourself”. Toxic behavior-which causes conflict-will always end up hurting the toxic person. Sticking to values when faced with conflict will prevent you from behaving in a way will hurt you later.

I’m a 90s kid I can live without social media as I grew up in a time when my scrolling was on the streets or swimming in the many swimming holes around my country Australia. You tube is my thing because matches I used to only read about in the paper as a kid I can actually watch. Tournaments like Zurich 1998 or Stanford 2000…highlight reels are the only treasures lol

That's so true, we don't need to "cut people off" but by honoring our truth and standing firm in our values people who aren't aligned with us will naturally self-eliminate. We can achieve the same end leading with love and integrity as opposed to hostility.

Las relaciones humanas son muy complejas y, supongo que en el tenis son aún más sensibles y delicadas. Tengo la fortuna de haber esquivado las relaciones tóxicas que se presentaron, sobre todo en el puesto de trabajo, pero lo que más me satisface es haber formado una familia que vive en armonía, amor y respeto mutuo. También debo decir que, desde hace 10 años que juego al tenis, y encontré compañeros a los que también considero como hermanos, una nueva familia, porque son afines, respetuosos y con muchos valores (hay alguno u otro tóxico, pero afortunadamente entre los compañeros nos alcanza para divertirnos cada semana y quedarnos con gusto de volvernos a ver).
Como el gusto que me da verte y escucharte apreciada y hermosa Venus. Gracias por compartir tus invaluables consejos y vivencias. Saludos cordiales.

I've been living with a narcissist and her flying monkey for almost seven years 😢. Either I live here with them, or live homeless in my car. It's (literally) a nightmare. I say literally because when I was a child, I acually had dreams/nightmares over and over again of being here. I always wondered what the meaning of that dream was. Now I know.

I know what you mean by "Values" and it has change my life sticking to them they are the responsibility to me being that Pillar in my Family and I must say it now it is following Christian Values what I have learned in my journey in life gotta have a balance I know however I noticed that my Hood life has slowly just faded.away along with those that want to stick to that life style while I'm still.around them I don't do drugs while others do and just that pushes them away I will rather be sober & coherent I know my boys are watching me there still small and that toxic old violent me has to perish its hard and i still have that toxic behavior in me sometimes however im still learning...well Venus Blessings hope you enjoy you're weekend homegirl today for me is Pizza on Friday with my little ones and Tennis in the Chula Vista parks here. Thanks a lot for the video. Can you please do a video on handling emotions during the game, my little girl is playing Juniors and she gets really upset when her opponent makes bad calls, and the anger messes up her precision. She calls the officials at times but they are so few and stay a while and then have to go to other courts. She knows to always make the right call regardless of what the other person is doing (values 😊) which makes the game unfair 🤷🏽♀️.
Any advise would be helpful.
