Uwharrie Trail Thru Hike (Condensed)

March 29-31, 2024. Over Easter Weekend I decided to hike the full Uwharrie Trail. I started on Friday, March 29 and finished two days later on Sunday, March 31. The Uwharrie Trial used to be a continuous 40 mile trail and parts have been "lost" over time. I did my thru hike SOBO starting at Tot Hill Farm Trailhead in the Birkhead Mountain Wilderness and finished at the Wood Run Trailhead (aka 24/27 Trailhead) in the Uwharrie National Forest. I hiked a little over 42 miles with 7,950 ft of total elevation gain.
