Yup, just making a point of how much EA has prioritized eliminating "toxicity" and "being inclusive" over the actual game. They didn't learn from their horrid BFV trailer, the dumpster fire of a game, or the constant lies and incompetence at the expense of the community. Now we literally don't even have scoreboards because the shittier players might get upset by having more deaths than kills...

Fact is: They will never be able to do a great Battlefield title on its roots like Battlefield 3 and Bad Company 2 again. It looks like a Call of Duty on steroids nowadays. When I heard the new God Damn awful Warsaw Theme, I kinda knew that it would be like "Ah, shit. Here we go again" feeling.
Vanguard has more game breaking bugs, and instantly when the game released there were cheaters, Vanguard is in a worse state even though it already released as a full game
Destruction, and factions is a big one for me. At moments I feel like I'm playing a simple cod ground war. I play BF for the chaos, Destruction, and distinct differences between the factions in order to properly engage objection and enemies. Some of these missing core functions are just a bit ridiculous for me

Correct me if I'm wrong, but before the Beta, something about some devs from the CoD/Warzone series was used to help and develop BF2042? If that is the case, it should say a lot as to why BF2042 is lacking so many things we're used to have from the previous Battlefields.
yeah ur correct old devs from past bfs arent there anymore plus they hired som ex cod developers and such so that will influence the game design of course

There's no scoreboard because they want to hide bots, remember how embarrassing it was for them when firestorm had no players in it? well that's why bots are in the game to begin with.
Amount of bots is equal to 128 minus the amount of players in the server. If you have 120 players in the game(60 vs 60) then there are 8 bots(128-120).
It actually shows how many real players there is in game. When you press tab you can see it in the lower right corner.
There is a scoreboard, but you cant see the KD of other people.

@@Salomon_G It depends on your definition of 'fine', but getting 70-80fps (sometimes even lower than that) with a 3080 is a big issue, especially when playing an fps game. BF 2042 needs a performance fix, but I highly doubt it will ever come knowing how DICE or the higher-ups at EA handle stuff.

We review games when they launch not later down the line.

Why isnt anyone talking about the minimap size?! I always made my minimap much bigger than default and it was crucial for my performance. They should add an option where you can customize your map size and other HUD elements.
BTW on PC if you install nvidia drivers 496.13 instead of the newest one the game runs much much smoother, trust me!
Holding down the pause button does show you your personal score and your squad mates scores as well. Just incase anyone wants to see what their eliminations, assists etc I thought I'd share
I need a scoreboard though man. I need to see how my entire team is doing and where we stack individually against them
@@aleclopez-rodriguez4532 I also need to see what enemy is dominating (and when they're alive, what "class" or if they're in a vehicle) and see if I need to switch to anit-vehicle to slow them down... The scoreboard has levels of useful knowledge that good players take into account.
The aim doesn't reach the enemy the same way BF3,BF4 does. It is like Bf5, I cant' see shit

I dont get the desire for 128 players. More players means bigger maps, bigger maps means more work to make a map. More work to make a map means less maps.
Yes you can treat different sectors as their own little mini maps, but I would rather have actual separate maps.
Not to mention more players is more physics to calculate for the CPU, and data to transmit over the network etc.
Chat is too toxic? Turn it off by default. Let people who want to be toxic turn it on and be toxic.

I disagree. I play with friends on ps4 and I play on ps5. The ps5 larger maps are better with more player count

My load outs go away, seems like random bloom on guns. AA seems to pick and choose when it wants to work. No one uses ammo so once my three rockets are used thats usually it. Game needs ammo depos
I think I’m gonna stick with Portal for now. I really dislike the current gunplay in the base game. I can play the new maps but with BF3 classes anyways

Ive had way more fun with Portal so far, but ive gotta say that needs some work too. And definitely more weapons and the vehicles need to behave like the old school ones from the games, not like reskins of the current vehicles
@@MavenFade I’d love to have the ability to customize my soldiers from any game with any weapon from any game. Ex: BF3 Medic with MP40 or a 2042 soldier with an M16A3
Bullet deviation does not belong in a point and shoot game. It literally negates the point in point and shoot.
If my crosshairs is on your head it better be a headshot.
Bullet deviation should exist in order to punish people for not firing in bursts or tap firing, and for simulating the effect of gravity at long range. The gunplay is getting too simplistic and easy. You should have to learn how to control your weapon, not be shooting sub MOA as soon as you pick up the game.
This simply isnt a Battlefield game. The moment your soldier walk towards the screen at the start it looks and feels like a new season of COD Warzone.
There is no squad play at all. The graphics are not even as good as bf5.
There isnt even a scoreboard because they dont want to hurt the kids feelings that this multi coloured mess of an FPS is aimed at.

The scoreboard things are absolute lies because you can still see all of the players lined up when clicking on "players and squad" in game
Most of the time I miss the all chat is when someone gets an incredible shot on me or something, like when I'm shot out of the cockpit from far away
Quick play solves team stacking? Sure, when the system responsible for balancing teams is functional. Otherwise it just loses its mind. Spent a good portion of my play time yesterday in matches where my team was hopelessly outmatched. Talking like losing by six or seven hundred tickets. Ended up getting so bad that I had to quit matches to seek out more balanced games. We need a server browser that shows us the condition of the game before you join.

Tbf I would rather have this than a sweaty SBMM on battlefield. Team balance is the only thing the game needs
My BIGGEST problem is the performance. 40-60 Fps using a 3060 and i5 8600k. Had to refund it. Played every battlefield game since BF3. But it's unplayable for me.
Hopefully that gets patched out for those of you that have PCs for that. I personally don’t think that it’s worth a refund for that though. Just play casually and have fun, I’ve been enjoying my time with it a lot, even on 30fps and 1080p. But I do have to admit, 60fps is by far the best consistent FPS that needs to be reached, especially for better hardware.
I have the same setup with a Ryzen 5600x and it was getting 75-90 fps depending on the map. @XfaptorOPJuansD

There was a shitpost with 10.3k upvotes but it got removed by DICE mods since they got triggered. It was about making fun of no all chat, no scoreboard and other things that is just silly with the game.

In all honesty, if they can't fix the all chat and scoreboard thing, this will be my last BF. I hated BF1 and BFV a little bit less, so I was really hoping they would recover.

I got early access and still not played the all out warfare mode due to the error messages. I can play portal though for some reason.
Portal sounds good until you play it and find that the mechanics are completely different from previous games. Portal is just as bad as AOW.

The little bird with the rockets is unstoppable against infantry on vehicles is a pain. I play on ps4 and i know it runs as best as it can and it needs some patches but its just been realese a couple of days ago we need to chill. One thing i notice is that the matches are really fast.

I feel like I'm the only person who dislikes portal. Probably around 7-8,000 hours on BF3 and BFBC2 together but portal just feels like a gimmick.
I would've been more than happy with them just adding BF3, 4, 1942 etc fan fav maps.
I'm ready for a complete new modern BF not 2 games in one splitting the player base.

You're not alone. Bf3 doesn't feel like bf3. And it's half ass with the amount of attachments and weapons available, or no vehicle customization. It's a fucking pos imitation of the greatness that was battlefield 3.

it would be good if on the old gen the affected areas of the map varied each game in such a way as to play the entire map but in several turns maybe in one game a piece of the map and in another game another piece

I swear EA play 10 hours trial saved me 80 bucks. This game is in a NOT OPTIMAL state... Also i think 128 players maps are too ambitious and everything feel so distant almost like is too open. Maybe it's me but 64 players is the best experience.

So it may not be a score board but you have one for your squad that shows each players kills,assists,deaths and etc. It also shows the othersquads overall kills and deaths. If your on console you can hold down the pause button. If you press it on the other hand you can go to squad and players and it shows how many and whos in game. May not be what im used to but atleast being able to see my stats and my squads is enough (coming from a ps5 user)

My problem is lack of squad play. I cannot create a squad in game to invite my friends. Squad leadership changes with every game. No in-squad voice to communicate with team members who do not have discord. Battlefield has always been about teamwork. Now it feels like a COD free for all.
In my opinion server browsers allowed for you not to get matchmade into the same map 8 times in a row. Especially with it disbanding players and having to requeue I swear there's still a map or two I haven't played in this early access. Bf4 server browsers also just allowed for you to find a map rotation you really enjoyed. I remember playing servers for entire afternoons just continuously playing a really good server.
i just have to ask why is it that the battlefield community seems to accept broken games for every release. If there was a huge backlash i guarantee we would have more polished games

Great Video! I had to stop playing for now using Amd 6900 xt and my game keeps crashing because the driver gets hung no matter what I have done. I looked it up and different websites and post say different things one even suggested I do a reinstall of Windows… Dice fix your game…. Until then I won’t be playing out of sheer frustration of game exiting for no real reason. I actually kind of enjoyed the game from what I played so far .
The thing that bother me the most is that there is so few weapons, no rebbon, less attachments, no assignments. As a completionist and gun freak this game is empty

Maps are so big theres no only in battlefield moments
Remember most of the devs now were bought up with no winners and losers but rather participation medals at school. We all know in time this will be an epic game but needs some massive fixes first
@Aka art, the biggest problem is the op AI who know wher you are at all times, that's why there's a lack of stats and scoreboard, the servers are full of bots not just to fill slots like dice said.
one of my main gripes is that they spent lots of resources on making bots for a solo multiplayer experience instead of a campaign, just to make it so you can only play solo online. For console players such as myself I find this to be really stupid, as you need to purchase a subscription to whatever live service sony or microsoft has just to play by yourself. At that point the solo mode is basically pointless. If the same connection is needed to play solo or online, who wouldn't just opt for online? As much I dislike many of the decisions in MW19, I can at least appreciate that they offered a fully offline experience

The server disbands at the end of every round?? I really really hated that in Battlefront 2. But no server browser just takes the cake. Why the F would they do shit like this?
There is some facts, in after-life's reddit post but i think hes exaggerating too much, ofc it needs a lot more polishing in terms of perfomance and netcode, but i do agree about the scoreboard, chat-all thing didnt bother me too much, but i could see why people would want that, since i fly jet most of the time biggest let down for me was jet physics, there was no chase camera setting to turn off rotation with the jet, aswell the afterburner felt like it was working on it's own plus the jets lagged sometimes aswell just like in the beta.

BF 2042 has beautiful maps but the glitches and lack of traditional Battlefield features is truly disheartening. I agree with the Reddit post of issues, and hope Dice resolves this by returning with traditional Battlefield features.
Lastly, somebody mentioned the big maps will be awesome for milsim. Unfortunately, you can’t guarantee to get into a base Epic Warfare game with your milsim. You can only squad up with three friends and then you’re thrown into a random game. Yesterday, my buddy and I were in a PRIVATE squad and we still got stuck with randoms… and the randoms ended up being the squad leader! There was nothing we could do except deal with it. It tears apart the community that made up Battlefield.

Tbh, they could ignore the base game of GF2042 and only focus on adding more maps and weapons to portal and I’d be happy.
Not including portal and there are like 20 guns in the entire game, BF4 launched with like 60+ and ended up with over 80. By its end. Many more maps too. AND it came with a good campaign.
Portal is the only thing that’s gonna keep this game afloat. They just need to port the entire games into portal though. All weapons from every game, all maps, etc.

The largest problem for me really is the maps. they gave us size but the infantry playable areas are so small. I often spawn and have no where to hide and I'm 100% visible. the maps are just built for vehicles. The second thing is the stupid mf hover craft is so op. we need a lock on ground vehicle launcher like in bf4.
edit: and then the guns can shoot for shit past 30 meters and the movement is so nerfed from bfv and even the beta
i don't really want to rant or be negative however, I will say that I actually am disappointed that there is no definitive scoreboard. I actually like to see how many deaths I've got, how many kills I've got compared to other players, and whenever I look at the scoreboard, I always think "Oh, I'm not doing very good, must do better" or "I must try and get more kills than deaths" or "I'm doing really well as am at the top and must keep it up" Apparantly Ghostgaming says that a scoreboard is coming soon...Apparently.
It's for the sole purpose of keeping the shitty players happy. The worse you are, the more upset you're gonna be whenever you look at the scoreboard and see more deaths than kills. This nothing but catering to bad players, and it WILL drive people away along with many of the other design choices...

@@Gibby34340 100% they made all types of changes to bf5 just because lesser skilled players were leaving the game and not returning. This bf feels so much like cod warezone especially with the lack of destruction. And I do believe they marketed the game as leveloution rerurning

I absolutely hate that attack heli's and cars/hovercrafts are not a 1 shot kill for the M5 or tank, also the velocity on the M5 is really slow and the reload is as well.
There are not that much counters to heli's or aired vehicles anyway. The AA launcher also has a pritty short range imo.
I don't know how the game is gonna last if we have to wait for new content until February? We barely have any guns to grind for

NOBODY is going to play an online FPS for any real length of time if there's no fucking scoreboard. This is BASIC stuff. Competing scores with other players in a match, even casually, is 90% of the reason anyone plays these games.
Calling it now, 2042 will tank harder than 5 did if they don't fix this.

They should've just called it something else than BF.
We dont have SCOREBOARD because of the bots. You cant see who's the bot or how many of them are on the server. If you get in the game there's is 124 "players" on it and thats that. You play the game. But if you see scoreboard and see 10 people on it, you will exit. Either 10 people on the list or 124 od them with 10 real nicknames and 114 "BF2042Bot2, BF2042Bot3, BF2042Bot4" etc. You get the point. Scoreboard will expose all of the empty servers.
But at this point, you have no idea how many people play this game. Spicily on the PC with bad optimization and bad time for buying a new GPU.
You'd think that with 200k subs you'd have the time to read reddit posts before interpreting them...
Tbh all I really like about 2042 is portal. I just want Dice or whichever studio did portal to expand on that.

Actually loving it. Played since the bf1942 beta and I felt little bursts of seratonin as I played with some veteran chums last night. I can't stop smiling when I play. Yes, there are issues, but as you mentioned, nothing like the issues that bf4 had.
