Just say B.T.O. That's what we did back in the day. Great song by a really great band.
I think that every single time a reactor says the name full out. ❤
I retired Dec 5, 2012... This is the theme song to my life now..
Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings were bandmates in the Guess Who. They developed differences and Randy left the band, eventually forming BTO. As a parting shot at his former bandmate, he wrote "Hey, You" a big hit for BTO, the shlyrics aimed directly at Cummings. I love hearing your work story, I can identify, Biz.
The main reason that Randy left The Guess Who was due to him having a dozen stones in his gall bladder, Randy was in desperate need to have an operation to remove his gall stones, but The Guess Who's touring schedule wouldn't allow it, so he left for the sake of his health. Randy was a Mormon, the other members of The Guess Who were heavily into taking drugs which disagreed with Randy's religion, another reason why he left.
When Randy left The Guess Who, they were on top of the album and singles charts with "American Woman", Burton told Randy he was a fool to leave and he'd never make it in the music industry by being straight. Five later the ball was on the other foot, Burton disbanded The Guess Who and Randy was at the pinnacle of his musical career with Bachman-Turner Overdrive, that's why Randy wrote "Hey You".
@@davidmacgregor5193 Thanks for the further info, David. I know that Randy and Burton patched things up years later and if I'm not mistaken, they toured together.
@@davidmacgregor5193 I have to laugh at he revisionist nonsense that Bachman puts out. The other members of the band wound up hating him because of his greater than thou attitude. He did not "leave" the band - they dumped Bachman and were happy to find an excuse to do so.
MUST HEAR Classics,, Bachman - Turner Overdrive "Let It Ride" & "Hey You"
This is a rare band where there live videos sound as good as the studio versions.
An there so fun to watch. I hope you react to the videos.
Four Wheel Drive....live. You can't experience something without seeing it. Randy does a solo at the start with a guitar and a drum stick that will knock you out. So underrated. Very talented guitar man.
Try out "You Ain't Seen Nothin Yet" or "Let It Ride" or "Looking Out For Number 1". What a great Canadian band. I'm so proud of them.
Already did it, I even said it in the video
BTO is the soundtrack of my youth. Another awesome Canuck group! 🇨🇦
Lol. I am dancing all over my living room just like I did at my high school dances! Love this song!!!
Worth your time to dig a little into how this song became written and produced .
Great story💚
Randy does tell a great story doesn’t he?
I See, said The Blind Man.
When I was in the army, I ended up getting a weekend leave with a black guy in our unit. We went into town and had a blast. One thing I remember was him asking me why all the white guy started dancing around when ever taking care of business, came on the radio. I said I don’t know. I guess it’s because it’s a good song.
They have been one of my favorite bands since the very first time I ever heard a song from them. They always have that beat that gets you rockin in your seat! I only got to see them live once, but it was a small venue and they rocked the house!
When I was in college (83-87), every single bar band covered this song & every person grooved on the dancefloor. Still love it!
BTO just had the sound. Upbeat, groovin and fun. I wish I caught a concert cuz it would've been killer.
B.T.O. is a can't miss band, everything in their catalog is good, try "let it ride" or "down and out man" for starters
The great thing about riding the Buss is you get to meet interesting people.
Great pull BizMan!!!!!! Thanks for starting my weekend off on the right foot!!!!! Their penmanship is definitely outstanding and their musicianship is top notch!!!!!! More BTO hombre!!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend!!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸
This song is half a century old and still rocks!
Being from Canada , heard tons of BTO on the radio growing up. “Four Wheel Drive” is a banger !!
My fave is "Roll On Down The Highway".
I'll believe to my last breath that Takin' Care of Business was the inspiration for Dire Straits' Money For Nothin"!
Awesome song, great band, even better reaction..... when I used to shoot pool gambling at the pool hall, I always tried to time it so that this song would come on the jukebox when I was one game away from winning the 💰....
.. ever wonder what it would sound like if BTO was still makin music? Band-Maid /Freedom live ... the groove lives on! And next step would be Manners official music video.
Great reaction and great band!! Love watching you party all by yourself! Please check out some more of BTO.
Yes Biz more 70s music 🎶
Ya can't walk down my street without hearing this blasting out windows.
Broke my rock concert cherry to BTO. 😊 1977. Thanks guys, you were great.
Thanks for the wakeup call!!! It'll be in my head all day!! B.T.O. has always been a favorite!!🤘🤘🎵🎼🎶🎤🎙🎧🎹🎸🥁🤘🤘🤘
Randy Bachman originally wrote this song in 1968 when he was in The Guess Who, he called it "White Collar Worker", Randy shelved the song for five years. Fast forward to 1973, Randy was listening to the radio when the DJ said he was "taking care of business", Randy thought that would make a great title for a song and he remembered about "White Collar Worker", he changed the lyrics and put "taking care of business" in the chorus. The song was released on the bands second album BTO II.
You are not talking too much at all. In fact right when you said that, I was thinking how much I really was liking what you were saying. You really summed up a whole lot of our existence but especially in the job life at least for a lot of people. And you said it so well man. It's right on.
Thanks fam
Hey sweetie I’m Taka Boom(Chakas sister) love your reactions❤❤❤❤
You are for sure a Rock and Roller.
🤘🏿🤘🏿
Self employed is the ticket!!!❤
You need to check out Bachman Turner Overdrive...live at the Roseland ballroom NYC...they still sound great live.
In the 1970 yearbook. Wow. I remember the cartoon that a student did. Ok, I was 5, but fun song. Actually, look up the members post BTO and they did more.😊
Hi Biz! fun fact Randy Bachmann was in the band earlier called the Guess Who, which you recently reacted to. He and Burt Cummins wrote all those Guess Who songs long before Bachmann Turner Overdrive!
Great song ❤ " Let it ride" by them is a BANGER 🔥🔥🔥😅😂 BizMatik Ur Awesome ❤❤❤😂
🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿
Such a dope track. My pops loved it!🖖🏼
I've met Randy a couple of times. He's a sweet charismatic guy. Really loves guitars.
Randy & Fred what a great duo.....
this has been an Anthem from the day it dropped!
Listen to the whole not fragile album you won't be disappointed I promise
I have a suggestion there's a song called give me your money please and another one called not fragile which an album was named after both kick butt rock on
I love how you personally relate to the working man’s hustle. You know what’s up.
They’re so awesome.
Awesome song ❤😊
Saw them live in St. Louis over 30 years ago. Very small venue - not a bad seat in the place. Great concert!
They were hard rocker! I would cruise in my 1969 custom van with the 8 track blowing out BTO for everyone!😂
Lead singer Randy Bachman played guitar for The Guess Who and left in 1970, Randy, Robbie Bachman Randy's brother and Fred Turner put Bachman Bachman Turner Overdrive together in 1973. The band had Randy Bachman lead guitar and vocals, Fred Turner bass and vocals, Tim Bachman guitar and Robbie Bachman on drums the were all brothers except Fred Turner of course, You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet was actually their only #1 hit. Robbie Bachman had a studder and while the band were practicing Randy started teasing Robbie and sang the song with a studder while recording but obviously Ronnie didn't mind because he played drums through the hole song, when the manager was helping to put the songs on the album they heard the band perform it with the studder and without the studder and he loved the studder so that went on the album 😂 Robbie Bachman died on January 12, 2023 at the age of 69.
BTO has BizMatik's ass groovin' today !
😂😂😂
Let it Ride and Blue Collar are my favorites!
Hope you get to those two.
BTW, It's BACHMAN - as in to BAA like a sheep
B ahh chman😊
OHHHH YEAHHHHHH BIZ, CLASSIC, LEGENDARY AND TIMELESSSSSS!!! 😊
I love how much fun you have with the music and the lyrics! 👍
This is great stuff.
"Blue Collar"...that is all... Enjoyed your reaction, man.
As Randy said they were looking for a sound, they had a pizza delivered and the delivery guy sat down and played the piano. The Rest is History!! Great Story!
That story is complete BS. Norm Durkee was laying down tracks in another room at the studio and the sound engineer suggested they needed some piano and recommended Durkee. Durkee listened to the track then composed and played his part in one take. Durkee was a fine musician in his own right and quite successful at that time. He was really pissed at Randy making up such a disrespectful story.
My nickname back in High school!
PRONOUNCED ( BOCKMAN ) 😊MORE TRACKS : HEY YOU, ROLL ON DOWN THE HIGHWAY, LET IT RIDE 😊
2 great songs by B.T.O. that weren't released as singles are "Givin' It All Away" and "Blue Moanin'" from their number 1 album 'Not Fragile'. If you get a chance, please react to them. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
I guess ya gotta a new theme song huh LOL. Have a blessed day my brother. If you want to have your mind blown, check out Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney doing Ebony and Ivory. Follow up with Three Dog night song Called Black and White
Great band! And song!
Original title White Collar Man....Elvis aske Randy if he could use TCB as one of his trademarks..Randy agreed met with Elvis where he was givenva gokd TCB logo on a gold chain like Elvis wore
BIZ! Next one is Let it Ride!! Bad ass kick ass balls to the walls song!!! Like a sledge Hammer of killer too
🎸💯 BTO has some really great stuff‼🔥
🤯 Music to MAKE YOU MOVE‼☮ ❤ 🎶
This song rocks. But I can’t play most of their songs in the car anymore. Got pulled over for speeding in 2021. 🚔😂
I can only play their soft jazzy cut, called “Blue Collar”. Good lyrics.
Hey! I'm self employed 😂😂best thing I ever did
My favourite is Roll On Down The Highway.
Ara los que no lo conocieron pensaban que eran mediocres y cn solo rock puro les calkaron la boca gran bto for ever mach.7😂

You gonna love this one, too. Keep the good work, Biz,
👏 ✌️ 👍🏻
More BTO please. Blue Collar, Sledgehammer,, Hey You, Not Fragile.
These guys aren't in the American rock& roll hall of fame! How come? Is it because they are a Canadian group?
Like the piano do you? Well it was a Pizza Delivery Driver who asked to play piano on it, and the guys laughed and then said why not give it a go. Guess they liked it, no?
Norman Durkee.
B AAH CKman
Play BTO looking out for number 1
Not “back man” it’s baak-mun like walkmen Bachman Turner Overdrive BTO
It's pronounced Bockman
It's not "back" man. It's more "bock" man. Think Johann Sebastian Bach.
