- In the 90's the arcades were overflowing, without a doubt 1992 was an excellent year, in this video I pay homage to the 90's with a TOP 20 list, to see which were the best arcade games in 1992.
The purpose of the TOP videos is for old-school gamers to look back and appreciate the influence of video games on their lives, with a purpose of high educational value and also as video game preservation.
Retro games are awesome, they are a lot more fun to play. I still love current games as well. I remember my brother and I used to play they hell out of the X-men Arcade back in the day.
One of my greatest Arcade accomplishments.... completing GIJOE on 1 quarter SOLO !!!!
That is very impressive!
What a massive year for video games!
Great year. That X-men game was way ahead of its time.
Yeah so was mortal kombat
Gi Joe is damn fun! Still loving it! Great years, When Konami was at its best
Another golden year from the golden age of gaming 👌
Quality video 👏 I’ve seen lots of game compilations.. and the way u set yours up is impressive ! Keep it up
if you werent there for the first time an MK unit was played and not one person knew anything.... you missed out on the gaming moment of the century :D
First time my 12 year old eyes saw Raiden use lightning to blow Kano's head off, I knew it was the beginning of a lifelong relationship with that game.
I remember a guy doing sub zeros fatality by accident. That was the first time I had seen it. I was in disbelief and so was he. Not only was it graphic, but I remember thinking, would your spine really come out like that? The answer is no.
I will never forget the first time I saw MK1 I was like what is this masterpiece! Especially being such a Street Fighter junkie to see something that was just as good blew my mind!
@The Bagging and Boarding Bad Boy the arcade scene was indeed incredible. (As well as any place that had an arcade game such as corner stores, laundry mats, etc)
like others, i slapped my quarter on the Mortal Kombat to get the next game. but in reality...i was there to learn moves from other players. long live the 90s! it was the end of arcades as WE knew it...
man i remember playing most of those game in 1992 was great yr, video games music sports aww good old days
I put enough quarters into Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and X-Men to finance a small European country for 5 years.
I probably put some of the devs kids through college. No fucks given. Every cent spent was worth it.
Lol! It feels like I dropped like 15 grand on Street Fighter2😄
Dont forget Simpson's arcade game, that thing was a killer
I distinctly remember the moment i realized TMNT arcade game was rigged to suck money out. Kept playing anyway lol.
This was back when $5 meant something!....with 3 brothers on my back...in the snow-up hill!
@@TOGI19 80s & 90s
Amazing year, what a great list
Excelente video, gracias por compartir. Saludos desde Argentina.
I ve played some of them then, great memories!
Amazing memories my friend !! Sound was so annoying, however we always loved it. Hahaha
Retro always in our memories, I have opened a session for retro on my channel.
They must never be forgotten and left behind.
Keep them alive and thanks for sharing these precious arcade games.
Eyes peeled for your next post
Back in the days I remember having so much fun playing at the arcades after school.
Its sad that kids today will never get to understand the greatness of the local arcade!
1992 was a big year for arcade games maybe biggest ever.
Most of my lunch money was spent on some of these games back when I was in school.
I completely forgot about the Asterix beat-em-up. Thats one Konami brawler you never hear anyone mention about.
Me encanta, quiero un arcade con todos!
I enjoyed the video...nicely put together. I get the sense that this video is your personal top 20, which I totally respect. From a pure popularity perspective though, top 3 should have been MK1, Street fighter CE, and X-Men though.
Video brought back great memories for me. Thanks for this!
MK was only popular in the US nobody gave an f*** about it everywhere else
Que época hermosa.
didn't hear of Gi Joe arcade, looks like a Rambo shoot-em-up knockoff. Did play lots of the driving one, Lucky and Wild, plus Lethal Enforcers.
LOVE the opening medley!!!
What a cool list. Super original.
That free kick & goal from the duth football team in super sidekicks was the best part ,as i speak from the netherlands 👍
Lucky & Wild was hella fun
Genial tu contenido socio 😻
Great education we got on the 90s
if you do a 1993 top, remember Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
Man a lot of these games still haven't been released for consoles. Which is a huge shame. Especially for the X-Men game.
X men is or was on the Xbox store for 360..... I got it!
@@AbleAbel still is?
It's okay we got mame now
love the games in the video
I just discovered Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder at castle fun park Abbotsford BC and its fucking awesome
I love your enthusiasm hell yea
Back in those days, I played my fair share of Golden Axe 2, which was...meh.
I hadn't heard of Death Adder until this video, and yes, it looks fucking awesome.
Like they improved nearly everything.
Galloping Ghost in Brookfield, Illinois has almost all of these machines in great working order...best arcade in America...
ugh, these are sooo effin good
I've been looking for boogie wings for years. Didnt known what it was called 👍👍👍
Hey! What shader are u using please ?
Around this year is when games got creative in still shot cartoons, the pixels were beginning to smooth out. Graphics were starting to take major shape with dynamic color and detail. From this point on a foward games were never the same. For the better.
Boogie wings looks really fun. Never heard of it before.
Arcade 1up should just release these all then people will worry about where to put them lol.
I loved lethal enforcers. After school I would play it instead of get something to eat lol.
How Dare U Rank X-Men So Low Smh Should've Been In The Top 10
Nossa que saudade quanto jogo bom!!!
Gi Joe the arcade game never saw the light of day on any official home consoles of any kind.
It was mentioned on the UA-cam channel Gamesack with an episode series called left in the Arcades.
It happened to a lot games alien vs predator
@@aaronostertag9065 Michael Jackson: Moonwalker the 3 player arcade beat em up, another great game and also never made it to home to any home consoles.
Even though the Sega Genesis got a home version of Michael Jackson: Moonwalker, it is a totally different game as it was an action platformer rather than a co-op beat em up seen in arcades.
why DJ Boy never get love or even Michael Jackson Moonwalker
Used to love super sidekicks, great game
I remember walking into the arcade one Saturday morning at the mall and seeing X-Men for the first time. The big ass one with 6 screens and joyticks. My young mind was fucking BLOWN. Some of my friends from school were there before me and there was space for one more. I had to play as goddamn Dazzler. Feltbadman, but the amount of fun we had beating the game made it worth it.
I miss the golden era of arcades, man. You had to be there to know what it was like.
I WAS 8YRS OLD DURING THESE DAZE😃
I was 12.It was a great time for arcade games, snes and megadrive.
Muy Buenos juegos los de esa epoca
wow man what a trhowback i probably saw many of this games when i use to go to the arce place but its ben almost 20 years or more now am 30 years old
que shaders usas para los juegos?
asterix need come out on ps4 and xbox one day, i only play like 2 or 3 times at arcades, one of most underrated beat em ups of that era, its shame we havent see port yet, il pary to see if ps4 n xbox could port it one day, be awesome
I didn't even know Truxton 2 existed lol
#1 SF2
Terrible how things change , so many good konami games at that time, and today.........well we have the new " amazing " Contra 2019 , wow
Undercover cops looks just like streets of rage
It's like they stole the game unless it was made b4 streets of rage
anos 90 a época dos arcades.
1992 that’s the year I was born!! 😁
X men should be number 1 fo sho
At least 3rd. It wasn't as popular as MK of SF but it was a blast
@@oldgraphics Underrated as far as this list goes. But it's up to us to decide what was the best in that time. Personally it was in my top 5 for sure of all time arcade games I loved
SF2 CE should be no1, other than that, nice list.
Great video! G.I. Joe was one of my favorites!!
90s baby👍👍👍
This must be worldwide sales. Cuz some of these games either weren't even in the US or popular in the US.
how do all these games look more fun than all my xbox1 games though
I always wished 4 g.i.joe remake,same style n everything.
There really should have been a console version of that X-Men game, I remember playing the 4 player version at the mall in 1992. Then again not everyone knows it and makes it more special. Lack of narration kills this.
what emulator they using to play the game?
I see the European version of Undercover Cops & the Europe-Only Asterix.
Muito bom
I want to go back.
SF1 actually wasn't half bad if you played the version of the coin-op that had impact-buttons that did more damage the harder you hit'em, haha. Good for a few coins anyway ;)
I wonder if there is a good MAME rom for Lucky and Wild
X-men should’ve been displayed in its ultimate 6 player version
Didn’t even watch and I know street fighter and mortal kombat will be top 2
As a kid in the 90's who basically lived at my local arcade, I don't recall 90% of these games....
Were most of these even released in America?
I was 10 years old and live in England remember playin 90% ov these in the arcades
Wheres NBA jam? I thought that was gonna make the top 3! Unless it came out in’93. Ugh getting senile.
1993
Do anyone here know the name of old ninja game say hopa when do magic as he can become twice the game look such shinobi plzzz
No World Heroes? No Fatal Fury 2?
2:10 - Dab.
Champion edition is #1
Im looking game type gi joe look from Behind old arcade game someone help??
Maybe konami's Devastators...
X men was the bizzinizz
On which Emulator i could Play this Games?
MAME
Golden axe is #2 and MK1 is #1 over SF2 champion edition 🤔🤔🤔
I agree champion edition is definately the number one for 92
Troof. Top 3 should have been X Men; then MK, then SF. I read gaming magazines back then and street fighter was always on the top of the charts
Really main gripe on the list is Golden axe at #2 good game but sf2 way better mk1 is #1 though
@@gunnyent530 One thing kept MK from being number one back then. Of course; it was the violence. It gave it a somewhat depreciated reputation
@@Recon-cv1fe true I remember it ducking on super NES consoles
Gia Joe
I have no memories of the G.I. Joe one
You forgot "Cadillacs and dinosaurs" and "Bucky o hare"
Cadillacs and dinosaurs is from the year 93
@@TROldSchoolGamer Nope, the arcade game is from 1992, i even checked it on the mame emulator just in case, maybe you confused it with the animated series which is from 1993 indeed
Lethal enforcers: "you missed me PIG!" I'm dead lol!!! to bad every game cabinet was broken, RELOAD!RELOAD!RELOAD!RELOAD!
ME: I am DAMMIT!
Golden axe 2 should’ve been displayed in its 4 player version I’m assuming mortal
Kombat is number 1 but in ur list there was couple games that didn’t belong I’m like where was nba jam in your list are u serious no nba jam I believe that came out in 1992 as well if remember correctly
Ciljaj ciljaj u undercover cops?!
