When my sister in law tagged me on Facebook about this show i was excited but skeptical but it's so far blown me away since I grew up with the original 3 movies and own them on dvd
And refused to return, Rob Garrison who played Tommy died in real life, who ironically says get him a bodybag in the first karate kid movie, only to end in a bodybag in cobra kai, when Tommy dies in his sleep
As a former 94 & 95 Texas state SOCK champion, I must state that weapons do in fact exist in tournament's and I have many trophies for them. Also, the crane kick WAS an illegal move. Kicking in the face is a point deduction. I can vouch to the mostly authentic-ness of the tournaments in the series. Although people arguing over thier one trophy win each year is laughable to me, as there will be another one to win in a week or two.
@@slaydezero2658 Therefore only the principles made by the rules stated in the fictional universe applies, therefore it couldn't have been an illegal kick, because those who officiated the tournament allowed it and gave Danny the win while Johnny made excuses and let it bother him.
Someday, I'm going to open a chain of Cobra Kai dojos so young people can learn the important lessons taught by the Cobra Kai dojo and its founder John Kreese - the greatest karate man I have ever known.
I love the franchise, and this continuation of it has been wonderfully cathartic from a nostalgia point of view. 1 issue with your list, whilst you are right about the word Karate breaking down into Empty Hand, you are wrong about it's non use of weapons. I acually studied in Goju Ryu way back as a young teenager of 14, and it does use and teach weapon use. In fact one of the tests for your black belt, is to create your very own Kata and it's move by move breakdown, known as Bunkai (not sure on spelling, hey it's been a few years and I'm currently too lazy too checkif you can't create one, good enough stylistically, containing the very many movements that each weapon specialises in, you won't past. Apart from that interesting points. Oh and since the release we have found the new Sony movie is going to be based on the early life of Mr Miyagi.
An Everlasting Gobstopper cannot go stale. I would have loved for Cobra Kai to go on forever. Unfortunately, I really stopped watching the show after Season 2 changed and made it so the series should have the name of "Karate Kid" instead of Cobra Kai. Ever since the series was sold to Netflix in Season 2, the "Good Guys" always won. No more "Bad Guys" winning.
I love the show and Movies big time here is how I rank the Trilogy and show. 1 The Karate Kid 1984 A+ 2 The Karate Kid Part II 1986 A- 3 The Karate Kid Part III 1989 C+ Cobra Kai A+++++
@BethSmith-s7e That movie had flaws but I think it had the best Mr. Miyagi fight. I love when he threw Mike Barnes through the door. Then mocked Terry Silver later.
The johnny as the hero argument in the og karate kid is nonsense. Was johnny a mixed up kid following the orders of his mad sensei? Yes. Was Daniel perfect? No, he did have an anger problem, amongst other things. Both were mixed up kids, I'll admit that, but Johnny was the clear instigator, and the one time Daniel was the instigator was when he got johnny kind of wet from a hose, not that bad really. Johnny beat the crap out of Daniel like 3 times, nothing makes that okay. Ali broke up with him, Daniel didn't know when he met her, and Johnny was a major jerk. Daniel was also not the best to Ali, but nothing he did is worth what Johnny did to him many times. You said it in this video, the bully victim line is kinda fuzzy. And in Cobra Kai, Daniel is arrogant and is a villain in the first season, I totally get that, I'm just saying in the og karate kid, while the kids were more complicated than just a hero and villain, the idea that Daniel was the real villain and Johnny was the hero makes no sense.
I like that Johnny has become more of a protagonist as the seasons progress. But i am so sick of the "Daniel was the villain" thing. So in a way, I agree.
"...dont do this at school, kids!"... Duh! Kids are actually smarter than you make them out to be! I hate condescending warnings like that. The fight between Miyagi Do, Eagle Fang and Cobra Kai at Larusso's house... Why did Tory risk fighting again, just after getting released from Juvenile Correctional facility?
So did I. I actually started practicing nunchakus(the official spelling) at 13, before taking up Karate, formally. I own two foam rubber "chucks" and a real wooden pair (w/chain) with studs. I never had to use any of them in fights, because I have never been in any serious fights.
“Progressive” and “open minded” are bad terms. Further proof Daniel is the bad guy. Also coors banquette is an uppity persons beer. key stone, natural ice, or milwaukies best ice are the poor or frugal mans beers

10:58 Cruel Summer was actually in Cobra Kai's season 2 finale, it's when everyone is arriving for the first day of school, it's not just the remix
Been a fan of the franchise since the first movie. My kids love it too!
Dutch aka Chad McQueen is still alive - so that mention in fact 22 is wrong
Yeah, he owns a car business
The last four are still alive if I remember correctly 😭
And refused to return, Rob Garrison who played Tommy died in real life, who ironically says get him a bodybag in the first karate kid movie, only to end in a bodybag in cobra kai, when Tommy dies in his sleep
also jonathan avilden is still alive, what kind of research are these guys doing i wonder
Actually chad McQueen died this month

It wasn't a point deduction in the movie and show though. Only punches to the face.
@@HaveButOneLife that's my point. (Pun)

Hawk's hair is like Mace Windu with both affinity to light and dark side of the force hahaha
While I love cobra kai so far i don't want it to go on too long and end up stale

Best fight: Top three: School hallway, La Russo House, Poolside
Can you do 107 facts about the walking dead season 9 10 and 11
9:28 umm Christopher Paul Ford is actually William Christopher Ford, and he's alive and well in Season 6
Terry looks like James may from top gear
Nariyoshi wasnt the name on the sign. It was on the letter he got from his father
Rob Garrison who played Tommy died not Chad Mcqueen who played Dutch, Chad Mcqueen refused to return and was later written to be in prison
That was mentioned toward the end of the video. I think you missed that part.
Chad will return in s7.

They managed to fixed that continuity error in season 6 part 1
the amagi doin this now
Your voice sounds like the Amagi guy
..Bro just relocated his toe
How can the crane kick be illegal if the round kick is not. Van damme round house is well known In tournaments and is quite valid in the rules.
I was just thinking how far Daniel has come. Moyagi beat Kreese and Silver..Now, so has Larusso
Yeah. That was cool. BTW it's MIYAGI, not Moyagi.
Kreese wasnt beaten, his daughter interrupted the final strike, therefore hes still unbeaten.
this could have been 30-40 facts but most of these facts got cut into 2-3 parts
Four movies and 2 tv shows doesn’t make 7 entries- what am I missing?
The Jaden Smith karate kid movie with Jackie Chan was also counted I think
why don't we know anything about Demetrius family

This all stems from one scene in how i met ur mother and ppl ran with it
I like that Johnny has become more of a protagonist as the seasons progress. But i am so sick of the "Daniel was the villain" thing. So in a way, I agree.

Fact 108
They wanna make a new movie without Johnny Lawrence is just freaking dumb
not really
I don’t think Dutch has passed yet my guy…
He died this year
The fact about not using weapons in karate is sorda wrong I take karate and we use nun chucks bo staff and more
So did I. I actually started practicing nunchakus(the official spelling) at 13, before taking up Karate, formally. I own two foam rubber "chucks" and a real wooden pair (w/chain) with studs. I never had to use any of them in fights, because I have never been in any serious fights.
Dont forget the warnings, as your a licensed fighter you have to warn the opponent 3 times.
Nicole brown was let go at the time because of her personal life problems
Mr Han and Dre use kung fu not karate

Pronounced Suh Terra.. Emphasis on the Ter.
Karate does not have weapons bs at least 98 percent of the karate styles I have ever seen have weapons.
“Progressive” and “open minded” are bad terms. Further proof Daniel is the bad guy.
