The face didnt get his happy end, the heel got proper additional heat. The psychology in the second half of the match entirely lived off Punk being hyperfixated on getting it back too.
Next match Punk is going over, getting his braclet back and then they will either do the rubber match right away (if the feud is still hot) or save it for a later date.

Turning Roman heel was the absolute best decision they could make for his career. He went from being boo'ed eachweek to getting over as a babyface which 10 years ago wouldn't be possible if he didn't turn heel.

Rock, Cena, Edge, Randy Savage, Undertaker, Stone cold(antihero), Roman, Seth, HHH, Randy, Rody Piper, Batista, Brock and many
And that's how most huge stars got over...being heels then getting over as babyfaces organically
Alot of wrestlers feel forced as babyfaces so as heels it allows the fans to get invested in hating their characters then tell a story that gets fans on their side ,organically

Not only was Roman's heel turn entertaining but was extremely beneficial for his babyface run. It got him over cause at that point was already likeable as a heel hence the term "Beloved Villian".
Is it safe to say that this was the best SummerSlam of all time. I mean all the matches delivered. I wasn’t expecting 4 title changes though. I’m happy with all the results except Nia Jax becoming WWE Women’s Champion. Roman Regins The OTC came back just like I predicted. 9.5/10 PPV Triple H is in his Prime. I can’t wait from Raw and Smackdown this week.
Tbh it might be the best ss of all time,like I don't remember any ss that delivered on ALL matches every match was a hit,and btw that why I love these kinda small match cards,it gives everyone time and THERE IS NO FILLER MATCHES

After Dom distracted the referee and Liv used the chair, they turned the camera back on Dom and you saw him laughing. So you immediately saw that it was his intention.

This is easily one of the best Summerslam ever. We got advancement in storytelling, a epic return, great winners and overall a solid crowd that made the match enjoyable.
I did like that both rick and Scott were both in attendance to witness bron winning the ic belt ❤

Ensuring his partners loss and having Damien come to the realization that he would lose his title and as Gunther chokes out Damien the last thing he sees as he loses consciousness is the man he thought was his best friend snarling at him as he loses the title.
It's crazy to think that there were 4 title changes and none of them were even the Opening or Main event, that's crazy

I can see Jey and Sami taking the tag titles off JD and Finn at Bash, leading to Finn vs Damian at Bad Blood. Jey has history with Rhea, and that can also allow Jey and Sami to take the tiger tag belts into War Games, with both bloodlines having the tag champs in them

All the titles changes felt like the mania where Vince gave us Kofi, Seth and Becky as champs. I loved it. I was there and it’s a top 3 summerslam of all time.
Priest vs GUNTHER and Punk vs Drew were the only predictions I got wrong. I didn't forsee Finn turning on Priest. Roman Reigns is back. 10/10

Damian Priest gets his big face turn, starts the feud with Balor tearing Judgement Day apart-and he loses in said match? He should’ve won man, him and Finn feuding for the title is what they and the World Heavyweight title need, and Finn deserves to get that big win.

This ppv was incredible, my only negative was the Sami vs Born match being only 5 Minutes

Damien did amazing this match, definitely impressed
I have been hating on and talking sh*t about Damien for a long time now. I was like he doesn't deserve to be a champion n is boring. But not anymore. His performance was really good and that moment where he gets angry after seeing Balor getting kicked in the face and then he delivers those massive clotheslines to Gunther while the crowd is getting absolutely fired up for Priest gave me chills. I'm a fan of his now lol.

The funniest thing is, all respects to Rey, but in two years out from under his father's wing, Dom has proved to be a much better pro wrestler than his father is.
In ring Rey absolutely dominates, but that's just about 20% of what makes a good Pro Wrestler. And Dom has the rest of the 80% in folds. Must be the Guerrero gene kicking in. 😂😂
Idk depends on the storyline Rey vs cm punk, Rey vs Batista, Rey vs Kane, Rey vs Eddie, etc those are some top tier storylines in pro wrestling history well probably not the kane one but still. Dom is a fantastic heel tho

I was legit surprised with how many belts were changed so much so for a second cody would lose his. I'm curious if they will go roman vs cody right away or do bloodline civil war then go to that. I also loved how much story punk vs drew told.
