Genuinely, both Duck Season and Tattletail didn't get nearly as much attention as they deserved. If they had come out in the last couple years they definitely would've been far more popular since they EASILY outclass a lot of the modern indie horror stuff getting pumped out (if Banban got as popular as it did, they definitely would've gone far). However a part of me is glad they came out when they did and remain decently "underrated" as, similar to how I feel about Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion, being there from before they got really popular years later makes them so much nicer. I have actually heard from a few different sources that the Tattletail devs have been thinking about reviving it which I would love to see and I hope that its presence in this mod increases the chance of that happening.

I get why NASU is lowest bc it doesn’t really bare much purpose other than to serve as a transition between it and deep dream, but it fills that role perfectly.
Not only is Mortis such a great song, but it has some amazing perspective shots like the one with John and Garcia facing both Michael and Amy and my personal favorite being the part with the multiple Amys behind John. Its just something about the way they each move for their lines while also stuttering around to the beat, its chaotic yet simple, sporadic yet smooth and it just tickles my brain in all the right ways. Also I would place Minds Eye Squared above Mortis for the main reason of the part with Fuckass is both silly yet also SO FUCKING GOOD. Both Sara and Smile Dog (or The Dragon as that form is called) have great voices but theres something about Fuckass's voice as well as the slight change in the backing track that just hits me right. Its my favorite thing when they take a part of a song or an entire song thats meant to be sillier and make it unironically really good. Evilkaru is an example of it not really being that good unironically, but the Fuckass part of Minds Eye Squared is a great example of a good one (Endo Revengo and Off the Goop are two examples of good ones from other mods imo for more examples). Also nice Tower Heroes wallpaper lol, was not expecting that.

“She’s a baddie lol” I saw that first try also yeah I love the section with FAKDOG The most and I really enjoy all of the songs in this mod because it feels like they spent months on each one not including the mechanics and I feel like that may be why this mod is really in the top 5 for me, nostalgia, effort and peak. It’s not even an hour and that’s what makes me love it even more. It feels like it lowers the standards of most mods coming out because of how so many are an hour long. I love Deep Dream, a song I listen to for night time, mortis and Minds eye squared are just peak, Face me is good and No More is also fucking peak

Deep Dream being placed where it was kinda hurts a bit ((as a big Yume Nikki fan myself)), but I can't really blame you for not having any experience with the game and thus not really having a connection to it

"Face me is the most nostalgic to me" I fucking grew 200 years older in a second the most nostalgic for me is Deep Dream wtf.
P.s: I don't really agree on the second part of Face Me, it's a great mid-song build up and functions really good to the meta idea that you suddenly find the dog in your house. +The kid dissing the dog with vocals in the end is awesome

I understand how you feel. It seems unfair to put bangers at the bottom of the list, and it could even be considered self-harm, but unfortunately, that's just the way it has to be done. I agree with your list, except that I would switch the "worst" with the second worst and the final song with Faith.

Yeah, I agree with your thoughts on Face Me. There’s such a change in tone from the first to the second partly because each half was composed by a different person. I wish the second section was still fast-paced.

While yes, i aggre that the first part is better, id like to say that both of them are good
My problem with it is that the song FORCES you to use headphones on the BEST PART OF THE SONG (1st one)
AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE YOU CANT HEAR DUCK HUNTS VOICE ON THE BEST PART OF THE SONG LIKE WHYYYY-
also the fact that he didint die like he did in the game (ragdoled acros the room, glowed and exploded, leaving the room filed with meat cubes) brings it down a little
Mortis also some flaws in my opineon, like how it's too long and the overused text to speech voices, ive just grown tierd of them

My personal ranking (nostalgia unbiased mostly)
1. Widespread - kind of ironic this is here because the vid had it at the bottom but what can i say. It just goes hard af and the sprites are well made and freaky. I will say even tho most of the list is unbiased i just had too much fond memories of this dog picture that i couldnt rank it lower
2. No More - amazing animation and the mechanic was fun. Not a single part of the song sounded bad
3. Face Me - the first part js goes so hard i had to put it up here. I didnt really like the 2nd part and the ending tho
4. Mortis - lot of content and some parts go hard, only problem for me is some parts felt underwhelming compared to the others
5. MES - cool but sound wise not as cool as the other songs
6. Deep Dream - it had a lot of stuff going on but just too slow paced for me
7. Evilkaru - joke song
8. Nasu - boring

I mean, it all depends on your taste. Opinions are subjective. And Widespread IS a banger, it's really good, but I had to put it at the bottom because I like the other songs more.
@trichyketchup yeah, that's fair, widespread isn't my favourite in terms of bg, art, and stuff (that'd probably go to mortis for me) but music wise it's the best IMO
NASU also serves an additional purpose. It pales in comparison to the dream world, so you’re naturally lead straight to the bed without even considering leaving the room. Perhaps unintentional, but the lack of entertainment serves as an additional method of propping up the dream world’s song. Also, do note, nostalgia doesn’t actually play too much of a role in the Yume Nikki song, for the simple fact that the entire “story” put on display is something the community collectively formed. In reality, all the characters are separated, with their relations to one another being unclear, if they have any at all.
