- Ram 1500 production at the Sterling Heights (Mich.) Sterling Heights Assembly Plant Production Assembly Plant (SHAP). FCA invested $1.48 billion in the plant to retool it to build the next-generation Ram 1500. Production began in March 2018. #ram1500 #pickup #assembly.

My 2019 bighorn just hit 56k miles got it in July it’s a great truck feels great and amazing for long trips

I wish they would show us more details on how the engine and transmission were made instead of stamping a metal sheet.

Love mine. Just hit 114K miles on my 2017. Just barely changed the brakes. Two batteries n my third set of tires. Have replaced nothing else. Fantastic truck, will buy another next year when this one is paid

the workers dont look happy ,glad my 3500 was put together in Mexico where the happy workers are - been there .

@Steven Godzisz no doubt! If I recall, Corvette was or is doing something like this with the Z06 where you watch it being built and then take delivery in the Corvette museum. At least that’s what I heard back in 2006.
Yeah, that would be ultimate. For my truck though, it would have been cool just to see a video of it, starting off as raw metal and being built into what it is.
You can... watch this. Nothing special about a ram over and other save for the trx... i get in mine everyday and see about 40 others on my way to work
When the hellcats first went into production they did that for all of the preorders.

Man I think it more affordable then buying new then used. Ram website a base model crew cab starts at 37,000 and a used beat up truck with 150000 miles will run you 14 to 29 thousand

How long does it take to go true the assembly line ?
Rams take about 30-45 hours to go through the assembly line but from order to delivery of your truck takes about 3 months for you to actually receive your truck at the dealer

@@stevesmith8107 tooling required for panels is extremely low since they are stainless steel sheets with an angle bent into them it will eliminate most of the big machinery you see here. Also no paint, so you don't need a paint shop for it. Then I'd assume they will use a mega casting machine for other parts. Thoseachines will be expensive, but if you look at what they are doing with the model 3 and model y, they are removing hundreds of parts from the front and rear of the car and replacing with a large casting front and rear, so no presses required or welders to stitch it all together.
@@Scholzey then cost effective should be under 35k since Ford can build a Mach E at 40k an model X is 90k
@@stevesmith8107 cybertruck is selling 40k starting I think. So their typical profit margins are ~25% might be higher or inline with cybertruck. So building for around $30k?

Stamping was bad on the drivers door of the black pickup. I'll be looking for that defect at the dealership when they hit the showroom.

Best trucks ever made I'm on my third and about to go on my fourth Ram pick up and at least a dozen people after seeing my truck I've gone and purchased a Dodge vehicle either a truck or a minivan some other Third vehicle for the price and the quality of the truck with the motor Ram is hard to beat
So much robotics involved in todays auto manufacturing. Why not pass along the savings to the consumer?

@@mattjc1021 The root of this problem can be found in the past. When the big oil investors entered the car industry. It is very simple, demand and supply. Efforts were made in Europe as well, but governments prevented the foolish demands of the people with strict tax and environmental laws. Like the price of gasoline and diesel in the Netherlands. For example, if gasoline is 1.70 per liter, only 1.10 goes to the government, then the oil producer goes to the United States and makes big machines for cattle and sheep and sells them to the people there. Because tax laws work in favor of big investors. People who have no health insurance, no healthy food, and no other support. Of course, in the future all oil wells will dry up, and that will be the end of stupidity.

They are nice when new then things go south....very bad quality and relatability - I've had three of them - never again
I bought a 2012 leftover in jan 2013,only problem I've had is a serpentine belt pulley that squeals sometimes,other than that its been awesome,80k miles and it still feels and drives and looks brand new.
My 94 ram has 520k and still going strong
