Good question, I thought I covered this in the video but perhaps that was in the first draft that had to get binned - apologies for that. Because I hadn't set up a level for the roof itself yet I was hosting it from the ceiling level. The gap between ceiling and roof levels is 40mm on average. This is assuming a 25mm deep ceiling batten + 15mm for gyprock ceiling lining. The gyprock is more likely to be 10mm but that just means you end up with a 2405 ceiling height rather than 2400 which is 5mm in the right direction. The overhang doesn't have any effect on the depth of the space between underside of ceiling and underside of roof (bottom chord of the truss). It does however change the soffit height depending on how wide the overhang is - but that's for another video 😅
