Kudos we work with a prison (work release) and know the great satisfaction of seeing a person who had no skills be trained and then actually are able to demonstrate proficiency and skills! It is a blessing to them and to us! You are a teacher and a mentor, the best people on earth. God bless you and your business!!

This was a special video on a couple of levels. Some of these students come from disadvantaged homes and lives but they are not satisfied with staying in those circumstances and are doing something about it to reshape their futures. Students aren’t looking for a handout but a chance to prove themselves worthy to be hired and some will begin their own businesses. Much respect for Hope Builders and David Odell for their compassion to give back to the community. I learned a lot from this video as well, thank you to everyone who participated.

Good educational video - I particularly liked "I do not go by measurements, I go by looks and feel", which probably is the common attitude for any non-structural concrete pour less than 4 inches thick!
What I also learned today from this video is that whenever all students are fully PPEd with safety glasses, gloves and masks, this makes the tutors immune to cement burns and injuries! I guess "lead by example" is an obsolete term amongst these professionals...

Learned almost everything from you. I've been reading on finishing and a lot of what I'm seeing says to not trowel outside concert. To finish with the broom after floating. I was hoping to get your opinion on this. Is the texture different if troweled and broomed VS float and broomed? Is it a bit safer to use a float and broom method to prevent bleed water from getting locked in Incase the slab is still bleeding but external factors (wind, heat) are causing evaporation so quickly you can't tell it's still bleeding?

    • @OdellCompleteConcrete
