Lucy such a brilliant idea using the little make up applicators. I love dew drop memento inks. What I find that helps me is to ink up my sponge and on a scrap paper I dab some ink off the sponge and then go onto my paper. Thank you for your video. 💖🇨🇦
I've had this book for a while and finished coulouring the first page (title page). After that I did not have much inspriation 😅 I discovered your colour along and I am now colouring your chosen page with my Polychromos. (I managed to find a good conversion chart on line). Thank you for this colour along, it helps a lot.

Thank you for thus coloring. The paper looks quite good. I own the newer book english version symphony of cute animals and the paper is slippery. I own only japanese versions now. This dutch version looks like paper with some tooth. Maybe I will purchase this version too. Kanoko is my favorite artist. Thank you for this youtube clip❤

I love it! I have purchased inks last weekend but had no idea where to start and you so beautifully have shown. I watched the other video to the end but in 2 parts. The weather in California is dreadful. We are expecting 90-100+....I hate it. But I am inside coloring along with you in the UK! My Maine Coon cat is lying in the tub.
Hi Lucy, it’s now 00.40 and I should be in bed. Thought I’d watch some of your really helpful video and save the rest for tomorrow. But I just had to see how it was coming together and it’s really lovely. I learnt a lot from it too. Getting some of the background done first really helped to make sense of the picture which looked a bit confusing. Now it’s getting the 3D look it needs. I probably would have gone straight in for a 🌷 tulip which I can see would have been a bad idea. The ink and the cloud stencil are amazing. Funnily enough only yesterday I had been looking at ink stamps, mainly to se how much Distress Ink cost - too much! I saw the little ones you used and put some on my wish list but wondered if they were any good. Also I wasn’t too sure how much use I’d get from them apart from colouring book backgrounds. But how well they work with pencils - I really must get some. I’d love if you do a video about them please. I really want to get the cloud stencil too. What were the little stumpy things you were using called? I already have the little foam applicators which I got to use with pan pastels. Once again you managed to cheer me up so I shall sleep better now. Looking forward to part 2. I have the book, uncoloured! so I can have a look at the full size page beforehand. We’re a good pair, you were colouring in your pyjamas after midnight and I’m sitting here in a nighty with a fan on to keep cool. I've just bought one of the In Depth books. They are tutorial books for a single subject. Mine is a butterfly with blurred background. It looks like a photo it's so realistic. The artist in there said to always do the background first. That way the image will pop but also you won't do the best bit first and then get bored and rush the background. I've never done it like that. I'm going to start though, it makes so much sense.

Watched the flower faries, the pencils are beautiful. You are a genius! The pic is truly lovely excited for the next part, tulips look realistic. So wonderful
The memento ink is water soluble so you can move it with water. Also instead of inking fro the ink pad itself, smoosh the ink on a slick surface and load up. It’s is much easier to use than from the ink pad. As a card maker I have used this product for years, and have found many ways to use it. You can also use your water brush to apply. I love listening to you, I am old enough to be you mum, but I adore you. I live in Florida about a hour from Disney. So when you take that trip maybe we could meet up. Thank you

They were in so tight that they gouged each other every time they went in and out of the slots. The kind that there is 3 pencils to a slot. Polys are bigger so they fit quite tight. Karen from Canada

It is important to swatch the inks. There's a chart in the Big Book of Colour Swatches for Distress Inks. I used cotton buds to put mine in so that I could chuck them away when used up. I did 4 colours with 1 Q-tip.
I have a lot of those ink pads at home but i’m so afraid to use them in my coloring books. Do they dry out or expire if I don’t use them? And if they do how do i make them moist and not dry?? If that makes sense. 😅 your coloring with those ink pads are beautiful by the way and that gives me a boost of confidence to start using mines. 😁
To be honest I dont know if they dry out, but I would think so as the distress inks sell re inkers for their pads. i have order the distress ink minis for this this reason and I love using them in my books. they give such a lovely effect 💖
