They made almost 200,000 bottles of act 11 so hopefully whoever wants one, will be able to find it and not have to pay any secondary prices at all. Cheers
Not only did they "produce" 200,000 bottles, but they thinned out the blend with more port than they've EVER used in the finishing barrels.
LOL...That's not how finishing works 🤣😂@@thejordanbrooks4893
Any suggestions for whisky hunting in portland maine
I wish I did sir but I'm a Wisconsinite!
Nice. Thanks for the review. Was able to snag one early this morning before work. Would feel a lot better about these if they were in the $90 ballpark. It does make for a fantastic companion during ice fishing adventures. Cheers.
I definitely miss these when they were sub $100.
Nice Tudor
This being at $150, found north SiB season 1 at $100 blows this out of the water
Interesting perspective and totally agree! Those Found North releases are no joke!
Can we increase the price of whiskey raiders sub to $300 so we can get this next month ?
Can you resell me this bottle for 300 by chance if I subscribe to Whiskey Raiders service? :)
As someone in CA, in the last 3-4 years I’ve dived deeper into whiskey and I’ve never seen this anywhere near MSRP. Even with their higher volume this year I doubt I’ll be lucky enough to find it outside of secondary. With that said in the past I’ve made the yearly concession to buy at secondary prices below $200 but now with it peaking near $250 I think this will sadly be my last because even though I do really really enjoy MWND for it’s flavors and it’s holiday nostalgia vibes ultimately it’s not worth over $300
I hope you can find one in your established price range! I hear supply is massive this year - hopefully that helps.
You must be looking in all the wrong places 😂
I'm in NoCal and they're at Costco $130... and I still passed! The last one I bought was Act 9 $90. That's a fair price for what you get. Especially with Sagamore being much cheaper and better quality!
Anyone know what glass he is using?
This is the Luigi Bormioli Vinoteque 5.75 oz!
Would you rate this higher than act 9 or act 10? 10 Seemed to miss the mark for most (me included).
I liked this more than 9 or 10 for sure.
I refuse to pay nearly $200 for sourced whiskey. High West isn't what they used to be. Maybe if they stopped calling themselves distillers and rebranded as "blenders", I'd feel better about it. This is coming from someone who grew up near Park City and used to be a huge fan of High West.
The thing is though that this isn't entirely sourced whiskey any longer. High West are distilling quite a bit themselves...
@@BottleRaiders If I'm not mistaken, they're actually using less of their own distillate in their blends than they ever have. They haven't been able to keep up with expansion after running out of distillate in 2018. Additionally they've thinned down Act 11 with more port wine than they've ever used as well.
Thankfully for High West they're not depending on my patronage and there are plenty of people who will buy whatever they release.
The sourcing bothered me when I got into bourbon, but now I realize that blending is 95% of the equation IMO
@@jbbourbon178 you're not wrong, blending is a huge part of the equation. i really only avoid MPG juice. IMO it all tastes the same and it doesn't appeal to me/my palate.
