I, Pragya, learnt Indian Sign Language while studying BA (Hons) Multimedia and Mass Communication from IP College for Women, University of Delhi.

1. This series aims to bring ISL into the public sphere.
2. I am not a professional, and I aim to share with you the basics of ISL as used in Delhi.
3. I would be posting a new video each week.
4. This series is for people who can hear.
5. Medium of instruction will be English. Anyone with a basic understanding of English can gain from this.
6. If you enjoy this series, I would really encourage you to do a proper course in ISL.
7. It is truly a lot of fun to learn ISL and I promise you are investing your time and energy at the right place.

There are some regional variations within ISL, maybe that is why.
I had added another video will all the standard signs shared by ISLRTC, you can check that one.
Recently I watched a movie called a silent voice after watching how people bully a deaf girl and not trying to understand her..after watching that movie i came here to learn sign language..idk why 😂 💕✨

Hi, I was wondering what the gender neutral signs would be. Like sibling, spouse, parent, grandparent...? Would it be simply without the man/woman signs. Like for instance I want to say "my parents", what do I do?
Thanks a lot for asking this. Unfortunately, we don’t have any gender neutral or non-binary signs in ISL.
For parents- you simply sign mother father

You can check out organisations like ISLRTC, Noida Deaf Society, NIHH, National Association of Deaf, Atulyakala, Haryana Welfare Society for Persons with Speech and Hearing Impairment, AIISH, V-shesh, GiftAbled, Sai Swayam Society, IDBA, Deaf Enabled Foundation, Blee Tech.

If you are a teacher, you can teach other subjects like Maths, Science to Deaf children.
